I have the same problem I just got the new mvp3.0 and the Atlantis tank and its to harsh and to hot at 30watts ..does my volts have anything to do with it? I currently cape on 50/50 at 12mgs nic .. Just ordered a 80vg 20pg at 3mg of nic hoping to blow clouds and enjoy the vape

What is the resistance of the coils? I have found on my sub-tank mini that the 1.2 ohm is a lot more harsh then the 0.5 ohm. It could be cause your vaping at 30 watts though. Try dialing it down and seeing if it helps. If by the time you his 16 to 18 it is still harsh then it could likely be the coil resistance. I don't know much about the atlantis. This is just based off my experience with the sub-tank mini.

But many won't know it until they at least try it. You can't say you don't like something if you have never tried it. It might not interest you, but you will never know for sure.

Well one can say that about just about EVERY aspect of life, couldn't they?

I think it has a lot to do with how self-aware and self-examined one is, and sometimes age clears a lot of these issues up because you've had a lot of years to find out who you are, likes and dislikes.

I really *do* know what I like. I don't have to go out there and try out everything......if I did that with cars, shoes, vapes, travel, food, geography, social life, dancing, pet ownership, sports.........I'd be utterly broke and most likely, no closer to being happy than I am now. ;)

The idea of being happy with what you have, and general contentment, is not necessarily a bad thing you know. We all know when we are in a rut......and we all know when we've hit our sweet spot in life.

If you don't reach any of those milestones, then by all means, KEEP TRYING TIL YOU DO.

But just to keep trying out stuff, because it's there and available to purchase.......not really into that myself. I've spent a lifetime watching people "chase stuff", and most ended up relatively just as happy, or unhappy, as they were to begin with. ;)

So many thousands of people quit smoking back in 2009, 2010, 2011 when there weren't even variable voltage batts n' stuff available. And yet I read posts all the time in which, despite all this new stuff being available, people are still struggling with quitting.

It's not always physical. Much of life's travails are emotional, psychological, and intellectual. Anybody can do anything, if they set a goal and stick with it.

I didn't make the move to sub-tanks cause I wanted something newer. I was having some issues with the newer duel coils for the Kanger Aerotank Minis. It wasn't performing as well as the older coils. So I was getting frustrated with it. I was originally going to get me a Nautilus. However I heard about the chimney being made of Chromed Brass. So it turned me off. I was still debating on what I was going to get when the Istick 50w came out. Since the same day the 30w dropped in price I went ahead and went with that. What had been putting me was the price on the good regulated mods. Since the 30w dropped in price I was able to make my decision and I haven't regretted it. What my experience with vaping has taught me is you won't always know what you will like if you don't try it. This is why I am eager to try out other people's vapes to see how they compare with mine. I might find me something else I like. I am 30 now. For the most part I do know what things I like to do and what kind of things I like. But when it comes to vaping, there is a whole lot more for me to learn and to find out what all I might like.

"can't stop" seems a little too strong, I can see coming to prefer subohm but it just doesn't seem right that something you (presumably) enjoyed immensely would suddenly not be appealing any more. However, when I first started using a dripper, it did screw with my inhalation technique, for while there I couldn't use anything right. Otherwise, yeah I can't use a little clearo right after blowing some clouds. But I still enjoy them, and find dripping a mixed bag. Only running .75 ohm though.

As to the "addiction" discussion a few pages back, yeah vaping is addicting otherwise how could it make it so easy to quit smoking? At the same time, partially its appeal is wonderful flavors, is that really addiction in the long term? As I realized how less satisfying vaping is in terms of nicotine delivery, I became more amazed how far I'd come, just because I *liked* it more.

Below are the questions I used to want to ask new potential vapers...

    1) What do you currently smoke?
    2) How much of that do you currently smoke?
    3) What do you like about smoking?
    4) What parts of the smoking experience do you feel you need to replicate?
    5) Are you open to trying something different?

Now I think I would add...

    1) What is your political persuasion?
    2) What do you think about the government in general?
    3) Do you like things simple, or do you want to fiddle around with stuff?
    4) How do you feel about hipsters, tattoos, piercings, and bucking/neglecting social conventions?
    5) Do you want kids to stay off your lawn?

I have always found this part funny (see signature)

You don't like your clearo tank, so by all means go out and buy a different clearo tank.

    Loved this!

Pertaining to the OP: I was perfectly happy using cartotanks (2.0 - 3.0 ohm cartos) for over two years. Went to work for a vape shop where all the employees build sub-ohm and rebuilding was encouraged by management. Began rebuilding for a Kayfun RTA (1.5 ohm), yet resisted sub-ohms for several months. I've since adapted; I build to 0.6 ohms for a RBA but don't like anything lower (too warm for my tastes).

I could vape normal resistance coils in a cartotank or modern clearo like a Nautilus, but why? Since learning to rebuild I don't have to get frustrated with "dud" cartos or clearo heads and their replacement costs. If my coil/wick is lousy in my devices, I have no one to blame but myself.

After reading this thread, I'm convinced that I need tattoos before I can enjoy my higher watt vape.

Sent from my HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon edition

You would think and don't forget the piercings or your just a poser, soon enough it will be you can only enjoy X vape if your skin color is as follows.......

    This place is getting ridiculous.

Just think, pretty soon we'll have the sub ohmers thinking they're in the minority.

And this is where ECF is headed, vapers trying to put other vapers in a minority whatever that group maybe. By all means keep doing your best to fracture the group we are ALL bundled into.

Naa, you just started vaping after the GG wars, and then the Provari wars were over, so it seems like something new.

Well if this is part for the course I'm definitely in the wrong place by all means enjoy your stereotypes and telling others how to enjoy their vape. Maybe this is where you should drop a "I can do that on 8 watts" line.
