I recently went on vacation in Mexico and came back with a bad case of Montezuma's Revenge.
So for two days I wasn't working, and just kind of hung out watching movies all day.

I had my battery charger in my luggage, which I left in my car, and just never bothered to unpack it.
The hassle of getting up, going out to the car, and digging out the charger just never seemed worth the effort.

That never would have happened with cigarettes.
And I mean NEVER.

LOL agreed!! I have stood out in the rain, snow, sleet, hail and ice for a cig. WOW! amazing how powerful a hold they have on you.

Congratulations on quitting the deadly habit of smoking, by whatever means....

This is how it has gone for me.....

I have been vaping for a year and haven't had any cigarettes since I started.

I have a bunch of juices, from 24mg down to 0mg. I rarely think about the amount of nicotine in the juice I pick up, I think about the amount of vapor and the taste.

As far as having to plan your day around the habit, my ecig doesn't have any where near the hold on me that the cigarettes did and I can see me possibly just forgetting to pick it up someday......

I am assuming you have been vaping for a fairly short period of time. It seems to me that most of us tend to overthink all of this.... I know for a fact that I never analysed my smoking anywhere near as much as my vaping.

The one thing I've noticed about vaping, is for me personally, it lacks the same triggers as smoking. With smoking it was oh, woke up...gotta smoke...ate food...gotta smoke...it's been an hour, gotta smoke. Vapine sorta blurs those lines. I remember the first time I me and my friend went outside for a vape with our 510s, and we're standing in the snow and my friend asks..."when do we know to stop"...I thought about it, and I said...."when we get cold I guess"...I can definetely see just forgetting to vape one day....in a galaxy far far away....

So funny! I remember thinking the same thing!

LOL! yeah, I asked myself the first few times too..... "now when do I stop?" How funny.

And yes... VERY new. 2 weeks or almost 2 weeks anyway. And I never looked at it that way.... The triggers aren't there. Hmm. Nice way of looking at it.

Take your time, don't rush yourself and like someone said, don't overthink it. Sinkin' thinkin- you can talk yourself out of this just as easily as you can talk yourself into it.

I never started vaping to quit smoking. It just sort of slowly happened where I just like vaping better. I can't imagine even wanting to smoke again.

I have lowered my nic from 24mg to 18mg and am working on going down to 12mg. If I can just get to a fairly low level I'll be happy about it. No plans at all to ever quit vaping, unless forced to by the FDA. lol I don't think I could give up the ritual of smoking.

This is off-topic, but regarding nail biting... I bit my nails until I was in my late twenties. The way I broke the habit was to let one thumb nail grow. It looked so pretty I let another one grow, and so on. I finally stopped biting all my nails and never ever did it again. Come to think of it, it's sort of the same process as lowering the nic in ecigs.

Thanks for the advice!

I started almost a year ago. Started with 18mg. I usually buy enough juice to last me about 2 months. I'm now down to using 4mg. Although I still have a few bottles of higher nic.and I use it from time to time. To be honest I cannot tell the diff. when I go back to the occasional higher level & I smoked for 49 years. Do what you think is right for you and you'll do just fine.
Find your own pace.

Mountain Dew flavored e juice ..........*faints* :vapor::toast:

I have only tried one mountain dew flavored juice-but I have NO reason to try any others. It is very dead on! it is at High Quality Electronic Cigarettes You must try it if you like mt dew (it actually helped slow down my "addiction" to the actual drink amazingly enough!) And hey, for 4.99 for 15 ml, you just can't go wrong :)

Ha! I typed the addy and it changed itself to say that on the link! it is mtbakervapor in case anyone was wondering!

Oh I am seriously gonna go broke on this website.

Can you help me understand the PG/VG thing? I see everyone talking about it and now I see it as an option on this website and I just don't understand what it is.

Also, you said "cool hit" what is that?

I can already tell that I will be getting lots and lots of the 5ml bottles to try different flavors and mixes. Do your combinations save somewhere? or will they remind you what your mixture was with each one you order? Or do I need to make a note of each one as I go?

I don't mess with the adding other flavors to the set Dragon's Blood mix other than the cool hit, which is a touch of mint from what I taste.

I just get the reg Drag's Blood at 50/50 VG PG @ 18 mgs of nic like all my other juices.

PG is a watery glycol, but will give you more flavor, where as VG is thick glycol and will give you more vapor.

I go half and half to get the best of both worlds.

Just pick the doctor flavor, pick your VG PG mix and your nic content, the size of bottle and then checkout. I wouldnt put anything else flavor wise or you might end with a juice that does not tast like Doc Pep since you added other flavors to it.

Try a small bottle and see what you think then get a bigger size next time :)

As someone said earlier in this thread, I always loved smoking. Unlike many people, I didn't pick up smoking until after college, but it was a perfect match for my nearly-OCD need to always be fidgeting with something. Like David Sedaris once described, smoking gave me something to do with my hands and mouth and an excuse to get out of my seat every hour or so. But, after 7 years, I had become ashamed and disgusted by my habit - the smell on my house and clothes, the compulsion to hide my habit from my colleagues, always feeling like I KNEW better.

Vaping has taken away the shame of smoking and I'm not embarrassed to admit that I'm a former smoker - in fact, I feel like telling more people so I can express my pride in having quit and to evangalize the benefits of vaping. I'm realistic about the relative dangers that I, personally, face. I'm a high stress person and when my hands are empty, I have bad habits of picking at my fingers/lips or of eating something. I also get anxious and/or angry pretty easily and being able to excuse myself for a vape outside is a useful habit to control and calm myself. I tend to think in the long run, a 6mg vape of Volcano's Pear-adise is better for me than "just a few Skittles" that usually becomes the entire bag. It also forces me to drink more water to avoid dehydration and thus reduces my former dependence on Diet Coke.

I'm not arguing that vaping is healthy, just that for me, it's likely the healthiest option I can see with my particular issues, needs and history. Other people with different habits and desires may find that quitting vaping is the best option for them, but that's just going to depend on the person. I'm hoping there will be more definitive research on vaping and nicotine in the future - I'll watch for them and keep adjusting my habits as necessary.

Vaping also allows me to have funny conversations with colleagues, such as the guy who told me he was scared to switch to vaping because he wasn't sure about having all that water vapor in his lungs.

I'd say just don't be so hard on yourself. Remember there's a lot more in cancer sticks that your body was addicted to besides the nicotine. It takes a few weeks just to detox from all that crap...take your time, go slowly. The addiction to smoking is about so much more than the nicotine. It's a ritual, a compulsion, and a reward. Things that our brain hardwires into our pleasure pathways, and that are very hard to break indeed. If you don't think so, watch a 2-3 year old try to wean off a pacifier, it's the same process. Instead of being so negative on yourself, congratulate yourself for getting off cigarettes first, and then take your time to get down to 0. You've got the rest of your (hopefully longer now) life ahead of you to do it. Keep at it!

Wewt Thank you sooo much for that information, I was literally just about to hit confirm on a different site (DFW Vapor) and that was 10ml for 8 bucks 15ml for 6.94 is whats up. And yes, I am horribly addicted to the sweet sweet beverage that is Mountain Dew, that's awesome that it actually slowed down your beverage intake as well, would be awesome if it did the same for me, I know my teeth would be happy about that for sure, though my dentist might be a little sad lol.

HAHA! That was me with my mother outside yesterday....

Mom: Well they aren't sure that the stuff in those things is any safer than cigarettes.

Me: Well, that's what the big tobacco backed lobby says. Hmmm, let's see you're inhaling hundreds of thousands of different chemicals, at least 4,000 of which are known carcinogens. I'm inhaling PG, VG, water and Nicotine. I'll take my chances.
