Ok so the work meeting ended and I took some pictures. Looks like the tank on the white device (Box? Mod?) is a TopTank Mini and that one has the glass and is the one I’ve been using since he gave it to me.

The other one looks exactly the same but is a black device (Box? Mod?) and that’s the one the glass broke on. That one he gave me the parts for along with the device I think he said in case I need an extra battery, and THAT one says SubTank mini. So I guess they were different to begin with. Pictures below of the bottoms of both, along with the parts I have for the broken SubTank mini atomizer.

I will bake all of you cookies once this is all done. Y’all are amazing.

That's better. So you have a white toptank (top filled) and it's in working condition. Good.

The black base is from a regular mini subtank (bottom filled). You've got the base, a coil, and a drip tip. The glass tube and the top part are missing. I know that Fasttech carries some kind of frankensteined replacement top acrylic domes, but I've never used them. @zoiDman will know--I'm pretty sure he has one. ;)

But if you want a complete subtank, you might as well get that mini from RMV. You'll get a brand new tank and you'll have spare parts galore. For ~20 bucks it's probably worth it.

Now, there are other tanks out there that you may like, but I digress.......

thank you so much for that. I’m enjoying the days I have left with her because from what I’ve read it’s going to get pretty awful in the end. So together we are trying to be as prepared as possible. ❤️

It's going to be horrible for you no matter what you do :( But as a bit of advice from someone who has been there (me), talk to as many people as you can to help you through it... That's why I mentioned that you can PM me any time. I am here for you and I am sure others here are as well.

Great site! There is an entire listing for Kanger tanks, are these the ones I would need? Or would any of the Kanger ones work? I’ll order some coils from there as well to see if I like them better than the homemade ones. :)
I believe these are the one Kayta mentioned to you earlier

Aspire Triton 1.8ohm Kanthal Replacement Coils 5 Pack - $16.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

    Or these
Aspire Triton Subohm replacement Coils 5 Pack - $16.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

These are also made for the Kanger subtank
Be sure to select the ohms------eq .5 1.2 1.8 in the drop down towards bottom of page
Kanger Subtank Upgraded OCC Replacement Coils 5 pack - $18.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

And remember to type in the discount code of turkey for 30% off the price shown.

    :)

    ...

I have. Or should I say "Had" one.

Actually Two of them. Can't really recommend it though.

One fell prey to the dreaded "Tank Cracker" syndrome from Flavored e-Liquid. The other lasted longer but the threads Wore Out on it.

If it was me, I would go with a Whole New TopTank for 20 Bucks from Rocky Mountain Vapes. That, and some Coil Heads, would get me going Immediately.

Then I would put together a Fasttech Order for a Bunch of Stuff I'm going to need down the road. Like More Coil Heads, maybe some Pre-Coiled Coils for the RBA Section, some Muji Cotton, some Replacement Glass for the TopTank, some Misc. Items like an Atomizer stand or two, etc.

And if I hadn't completely Blown my Vape Budget, I would throw one of these on the Order to get the SubTank Mini going.

There's a Ton of them available on Fasttech. The search words are "SubTank Mini Tank Set"

    4ml is/was the Original Size.

Zazie, I’m so sorry to hear about your sister. I’m glad she could be with you in her last months but I’m sure that makes a lasting impression once she’s gone. If I may ask, is that why you started vaping?

My mom lives about 2 hours from me but I talk to her every day and go see her every weekend. When they diagnosed her she was at stage 2, but she rejected any treatment as they aren’t too promising for small cell lung cancer anyway. And she’s doing well! Like if you didn’t know she was sick you wouldn’t be able to tell. I hear the decline is rapid and as horrible as it sounds, I hope that it is. I hope she feels amazing until the day that she doesn’t and then I hope it’s quick.

The oncologist told her to start vaping, and she bought a pen thing from like Walgreens or something and hated it so went back to smoking. Crazy that something can actively be killing you and you still choose to participate. That addiction is so strong.

Thank you for sharing your story. I hate to drudge up past heartache but it helps to talk to people who have been in similar situations. ❤️

It does help, for some reason, although I wish for your sake that we didn't have this in common.

I didn't start vaping because of my sister. In fact, when she moved in, I smoked very rarely. She hadn't stopped, though (and didn't until that last day and a half), and gradually I started bumming a cig from her here and there. But she rolled her own, and quickly guilt drove me to buy mine from the store. Then she started bumming from me and eventually we both were smoking Camel Lights on the porch together.

After she died, my smoking went back to its usual rate of two or four packs every week or two or twenty. Then, this past April, I learned that some studies showed nicotine may help ward off brain damage caused by MS, so I started vaping. Not smoking didn't enter into the decision, although it's a great side effect.

I hope your wish for your mother's end comes true and that the awful part is very, very short.

No, the Aspire coils that I use in the Subtank are the old BVC coils (not Triton coils). RMV doesn't carry them. But other places do, including Fasttech:

Have you used Triton coils in the Subtank? Just curious.

    no, I use the rba's

    :)

Yes, I do too. But for those times when you're just in a hurry, or when things do not cooperate, or when you're a new vaper, those drop-in coils are a godsend. And they last a long time, actually. I just rinse them under hot water, blow the water out them, and they are good to go again.

That's why I always recommend Subtanks mini to new vapers. Because of their versatility!

Smoking on the porch...so funny how most of us have these associations. I come from a very large very cajun family and for as long as i remember everyone was on someones porch smoking and talking and laughing. I don't remember a single instance where anyone in my immediate family actually wanted to, or attempted to, quit smoking. It's just what everyone did.

I quit each time I was pregnant and nursing, and then went right back like a moth to a flame. Could not WAIT to 'get done nursing' to be able to smoke. I find it quite disgusting, the smoking and the addictive power that it holds over my life and my family's lives.

I have a feeling after my mother dies I will still cherish the memories of sitting on her porch, drinking coffee and smoking and talking and crying and laughing. I hope to create memories for my babies that hold just as much weight without the self-abusive behavior.

I'm saving all these suggestions, and appreciate all of you taking time to help me out today. I got everything in tonight, my husband made me some coils, we mixed up a batch of juice, and I'm officially all set for now.

I vaped with the new flavor and felt...underwhelmed. But I've been very excited so perhaps my expectations were a little high. I plan on only vaping tomorrow, although I do have cigarettes and I won't beat myself up if I need to grab one.

Again, I appreciate each of you taking time out of your day to help a lowly internet stranger and offer such kind words and patience. You have surprised me with your kindness, and I look forward to participating and learning right along side of all of you. Many, many thanks from Texas!

@jtbje Hello and Welcome to the forums!!!! Sorry to hear of your situation you are going through at this time with your mother... You have received a wealth of knowledge already from these wonderful people so there is only one tid bit I can add for the toptank mini.
The tank is called a tanktop but filling from the bottom is ok. When doing a build make sure the coil fits and does not hit the sides or top of the casing after being put back together. If it does it will short the wire out.
If you fill it from the bottom, you will not be able to fill the tank to its max capacity is the only difference between top fill and bottom fill of that said tank. I have about 4 subtanks all together. 1 subtank mini and 3 toptank minis. I use the subtank mini for Unflavored Ejuice only as it what actually got me to quit smoking of 28 years. Still use it 85% of the time. The other 3 are for flavored juices that I make of my own (whole different rabbit hole to go down ;) ). So, any thing you need is just a question away as we all help out whenever we can!! Enjoy your stay here!!

But my favorite coil for Subtank Mini is Aspire BVC 1.6 ohm coil. Yup, they fit and work very nicely (thanks @ENAUD :)).
~ They say you learn something new every day. This is it for me as I have 1 of those coils left that I have just laying around with no tank to use it on. Now I can use it!! As I was filling it up, I dropped my Nautilus into the sewer..... :( Oh well. Beware of your surroundings..... ;)

I got a tip from @ENAUD. Just paying it forward. I would never think of trying to use a BVC coil in a Kanger tank. You learn something new every day here. Let us know how it goes. For me, it's a lovely true MTL vape.

Yeah, my main vape as I sit here typing this and using, is the subtank mini Unflavored as described above using the rba section with 1.6 ohm coil @ a whopping 7 watts. That is as low as it will go... have it on the middle hole as I like less restriction but still MTL.
