For those that didn't know, Kanger have released the AeroTank's base as a standalone airflow controller so you can turn any PT 2/3 into an AeroTank - they're pretty cheap too - $5 or so I think :)

The Aero - it effectively is a PT2 (only you can use dual-coils in it if you wish like the PT3) with a nicer look (IMO) and the airflow control.

If you already have a PT2/3 though and want the airflow control, buying that base above is cheaper than buying a whole new tank.
Seems they're running about $13.50 each and only for PT 2.... single coil tanks

While the actual Aero is a Bottom Dual Coil... not single...

On the Kangertech site they're showing them for PT2 and 3 - may not be in stores yet though - that price seems a little high too - they're selling here in the UK for £4 ($6.60) - usually our vape gear works out considerably more expensive than yours

I think it's great if they've (Kranger) have actually given their customers
the opportunity to change the PT 2 and 3 into a true working Aero's air system...
The designs of those two Tanks... are great looking anyway...
and NOW... if it's possible to have a true working air system (Aero's) to boot... wow!
I sure hope it works out for the best ... it would be a MAJOR step up in the Vaping world.

Though they just could have (wink) ran themselves out of a lot of future business
in as much... as there are going to be more than one or two people who will get
while the get-un good and purchase a few of those new Aero bases and just rebuild coils
from their old stock (supplies of coils) and those tanks (PT 2 and 3's) they have already and
they'll have NO reason to replace (buy and more etc)...
and there could be a major down side for Kranger and a few other suppliers when it comes
to future purchases... its happen before.... just a thought...

A few misinterpreted facts need to be pointed out here...

There is nothing new or revolutionary about 510 device air flow controllers.

This one is in combination with a replacement pro tank base, instead of being an add on device you screw your 510 connector
(pt base) into.

This one fits all the pro tanks... the pt1, pt2 and the pt3.

The aero tank has this feature built in and the aeero tank is all stainless steel construction.
The aero tank is made for the pt3 dual coil head and it does NOT accept the old pt2 heads.

This device lets you control the airflow through the kanger head/coil, but it will do nothing about fixing the new air flow issue the 510 connected kanger devices are now having with the new soft silicone insulator grommet on the newer kangertech single coil heads.

One good cure for that problem however, IS to replace the damned kanger 510 pro tank base altogether with a protank mini base !
This option gets rid of the captured grommet in the 510 connection and lets the protank operate with an ego connection, thus eliminating that damned problem altogether. You may need to add one silicone coil stem cup upside down on top of the existing coil stem cup to get a positive seal on the driptip tube part of the tank as I did. It's working great now without the damned choked off airflow grommet issue or the usual pt2 gurgles.

Meanwhile, kangertech does have a remedy for the soft grommet air flow problem that they have been using on the pt3 heads center pin. I expect that they will be adopting the same fix on their future single coil heads too. see attached link to the grommet airflow issue discussion.

Actually, that depends on the travel to the contact point in the airflow control - the issue with the silicone grommets you describe is the grommet getting squished and expanding to block the airflow - since the distance between the airflow control and the bottom pin of the ProTank head is now fixed (as opposed to varying based on the PV you're screwing the PT on to), the airflow control may well fix that too.

i may get this ! i broke my mvp and only have a magneto mech.... so every protank or unitank or tank type device that feeds air through the bottom no longer works !

when you screw a protank 1 2 3 or unitank down into the perfectly cut threads of a nice mech it cuts off the air flow completely ! by the time you unscrew it enough to get some air flow it looses contact and becomes wobly !

so this base converts the flow of to the side and makes it adjustable, this now means i can screw the protanks all the way down flush and get perfect adjustable air flow !
