The ratings table has been updated several times the past couple of weeks so if you haven't downloaded it recently, here it is. Three new Efests, two ESYBs, the Busbars, a Tesiyi, and the VTC5A battery have been added. This brings the total number of 18650's tested up to 100 and there are still many, many more out there to get to.

Thank you for your support and for helping to spread the word on exaggerated battery ratings!

I'm starting to suspect that the brand only goes skin deep. There are battery designers, who may or may not work for the brands, and there are the production shops, where the precision and quality control are decided. May be the big brand battery companies own all their own production but I bet they don't.

The most valuable videos pbusardo has made are the factory visits where we get to see how most of the stuff we buy is made. One of them is to a battery factory and for me that was the best of the bunch by far. I once had a production shop that I built by hand to make my own designs. Call it primitive but effective. These days I work in a shop that makes sophisicated multi million dollar machines to order for large companies who manufacture, mostly for the car business. What I see in the battery factory is machines that have become fairly refined and standardized but are still custom built. The differences in battery factories is probably the caliber of management, not technology. If you're in to the battery part of things watch this video.

Mooch posted this video way back when PBusardo posted it on his YouTube channel.

After watching the movie on the battery makr from China I attach ashort movie that Shows a bit from Samsung SDI:

It is very easy to see, why Chinese manufacturer are not in a Position to compete the big names like SDI, Panasonic, LG Chem and Sony.
It is therefore understandable, why Chinese companies "relabel" industrial batteris, in order to offer them as consumer products. What is not understandable and not OK, is to relabel batteries with wrong specifications.
