I've been playing around with this for a little while,so I am at a point I can make my opinion known. ( for testing I only used one flavor of juice 80%pg 20% vg) I used three different e cigs ( kr808d-1 joye 510 and a dse901)First lets get to modified carts ..I tried the ptb. also tried the zfm , tried a greencig cart for the 808 & 901, Tried a modified greencig cart (cut down with a 901 whistle tip) tried the blue foam , tried the spring well just about everything .. also tried regular & premium cartomizers(for the, 510 from vaporkings.com and for the kr808d-1 V4L premium cartomizers.. HERE IS MY OPINION ; for the best flavor the cartomizers have it hands down, on all three e-cigs.. no dought..for vapor I think the 510 cartomizer was just a little bit better than the V4l cartomizer on the 808 and the 901 ..throat hit was also a little better on the 510 cartomizer , The standard atomizers and carts from both the 510 & 901 just couldn't compare . I also tried this with a home made high voltage mod, (although the 510 cartomizer acted like high voltage with a regular battery)at higher voltage the best out of the three was the kr808d-1 cartomizer. All the regular atomizer & carts combo just had a funny taste and other issues , the greencig carts produced great vapor but the flavor was lost, Also i did 4 refills on each cartomizer, then did a boil clean and 3 more refills before tossing . And I am a heavy vapor ( i averaged 2 packs a day with analogs) For me personally , i don't think I will use anything but cartomizers from here on out...

hell to the yes, I moved to 510 cartomizers and have never looked back, i run them on my 6v copper and 801 batteries (with an adapter) and they just run the way i want them to. I hate dripping, i hate cartridges (but not as much as dripping), but cartomizers have just changed the idea of vaping IMO. when running 6v i have to redrip every couple of puffs but with cartos i drip and vape for hours. just a completely different experience. Dunno where you get your cartos but i get them at litecigusa, 5 for $6.75 and free shipping over $15 bucks. Happy vaping!

the advantage of the cartomizers is flavor and infrequent maintenance, you don't have to blow out your cartos everyday, or wipe them with your shirt when filling, and they don't leak. when talking about mods, the cartomizers weak point (in most cases vapor production) is removed and in turn becomes an advantage, at HV it produces plumes of vapor, and most importantly does not die from the exertion of the higher voltage, i literally ran one of my old cartomizers on my 6v for 2 minutes and it still didn't die, running a normal atty dry for half a second kills it. I still run cartos at 3.7v on my 801 batteries, and it still produces more vapor then most other attys, keep in mind however that the 510 batteries don't really put out 3.7v, they put out about 3.1v which is not enough for cartos which are meant for "real" 3.7 batteries (kr-808 are actually 3.7v). try them out on your SD when you get the batts, you should be satisfied

I took apart a 510 cartomizer and the thing was PACKED with filler, no wonder they work so well. I'm talking 100-200x the amount of filler in a Blu mini cart. Maybe 20-30x the filler that would seemingly fit into a regular 510 cart.

How do you guys go about re-filling them? Put a syringe into the suction hole at an angle into the filler material? If I pop off the plastic ring where the suction hole is, it just won't go back on... Maybe there are better cartomizers out there then the ones I got for disassembling and putting back together?

Man...I've been trying many if not all mods possible with the Joye 510.
I was almost settling on DD when my cartomizers from healthcabin arrived.

Dude...what a smooth thing. They work well until the end! Searching on refilling them, what a surprise. Refilled with my juice after prying the top cap. It won't fit back since this model is glued to the carto tube. Anyway, I am using the rubber condom that came, originally, with the cartomizer, after making a small hole in it.

Very good. Let's see if this is the last frontier...

I finally broke down and got the cartomizers two weeks ago and i have to honestly say they rock, way better then any normal/reg atty out there. They vape plumes and like a lot have said they draw great until the end. I will not be going back to regular attys again and have 10 reg attys left I might not even use now. Oh and as for my juice box I made its collecting dust now. :)

After using carts with every conceivable mod for the last 6 months, I have finally switched over to cartomizers. WHY THE HECK DIDN'T I DO THIS SOONER???!??? I never understood the appeal of dripping, it's a hassle and you get 1-2 good hits before it tastes like crap and you have to drip again. I used the ZFM carts for a while with moderate success but they still leak/flood regularly and don't last all that long.

Cartomizer + XHaler is the BEST combination I've used to date. My SB made the cartomizers a bit harsh and burnt tasting, but the XHaler is perfect!

Well, let me add my 2 cents. I switched to 510 cartomizers a couple of months ago. I will say that I only use the Boge (silver colored threads) because I find that the SLB (brass threads) do not work well. The advantages are many. 5-7 hours of vaping. Consistent flavor and performance. Tons of vapor at 3.7v.
I find that combined with the Fistpack there is nothing that compares. Until now.
I've used many top and bottom fed juicers and most are inconsistent at best. IMO the very best flavor and vape is a freshly dripped atty. Well I purchased a Kaji (they call it Journeyman) from Welcome to R&R Manufacturing - Handcrafted Battery Box Mods and it works fantastic! This thing feeds perfectly and hits like a freshly dripped atty. The 3 ml bottle lasts me all day and the 18650 battery lasts 2 days! I love my Fistpack/510 carto vaping but the Kaji just blows you away!

There seems to be conflicting claims concerning cartomizers that is perpetuated on ECF. Some people say cartomizers provide superior flavor, one that is comparable to dripping. Others disagree. We've got both being made in this thread and some even in the same posts.

I personally have only ordered one pack of cartomizers (Boge 510). As someone else in this thread said, I didn't notice anything off with fruit flavors. Other less sweet juices however had an off taste. Someone on here described it as "drinking soda through a t-shirt", and that really captures it for me.

Take all this with a grain of salt, I'm a die hard dripper. With the combination of drip tip and a no-bridge/wick atty, there is literally nothing between me and the vapor. For me this equals the absolute best taste and vapor production. Personally, I like how dripping modulates the e-cig experience. Maybe it's because it more closely mimics analogs, in that two drops is about one cigarettes worth of smoking. When it's dry I'm done till I need "another one" and this helps cut down on chain vaping. But really it's about getting the best vapor possible and when you compare anything to direct dripping, it's no contest.

To each their own I suppose. If I had a long car trip or some other situation where I just couldn't have a bottle of juice on me (airplanes?), I'd go with the Blue Foam Dart over a cartomizer. I've used it in the past, and personally don't find the blue foam to impart a flavor like I got from a cartomizer.

Yep. But to each his own.

Again, yep. The BFD mod is the one I use and the best I've found to date. The taste is as close to dripping as one can get, and it lasts quite awhile.
