First off, congratulations. I'm a 40-year smoker. I read the forums about how difficult it was, but I didn't find it so. After a couple of days smoking disposables, I bought a starter kit and haven't looked back for two months. Now I've gone through a hundred bucks or so of equipment and several different flavors of
juice, but I haven't had any desire to actually smoke (beyond a fleeting thought now and then) in most of that time. It may not have saved me much money over those two months, but now that I've settled on a flavor and equipment, the savings should add up.
As the praise for quitting flows in, I actually feel guilty, because it just wasn't that hard for me...but it's important to mention this was a 40! YEAR habit, that I just couldn't kick. The patch gave me weird dreams and a rash. Gum made my voice go away...couldn't even talk for a couple of days. I smoked anyway....
I do feel better, both physically and mentally. The fact that I'm not a smoker just amazes me every day. I get a huge psychological boost from that. I can smell again. As I'm walking through public places, I can pick out the smokers from several feet away....and some of them aren't smoking
tobacco ;-) (You and I used to smell like that.)
My dad died at 44. I remember his cough. As a kid, I could tell where he was in a crowd by zoning in on his cough. My daughter said the same thing to me some time ago. I don't cough anymore.....
