One of a kind MTL RTA

This is my newest MTL rta tank....

I reduced hole under coil from 4mm to 2mm in my Uwell RBA deck by inserting modified nautilus BVC coil pin and insulator... so far it works nicely... draw is very similar to nautilus 2 fully open...or SJMY dogystyle...

I had to grind of bottom of pin to expose hole, cut off thicker part of insulator... and force the insert (pin with insulator) into RBA deck hole (wish I took picture of the deck with inserted pin)... below is picture of parts

My first build (5 wraps, 2.5mm ID, 0.7ohm) provides pretty good flavor...

Anybody doing some modifications? Let'us share in this thread.

Two more pictures of modification... from the first one you can see I did poor job grinding(cutting) as pin is slightly slanted... I need better glasses... need to grind another pin...luckilly I have plenty of used Nautilus BVC coils...

On second pics you can see size of hole compared to SMJY Dogystyle... I was suprised it is a smaller than doggy's....

hey @Janusz , I like what youve done here. Shame the pics have gone.
I was just wondering what is the smallest wire you can use with this rba.
I have a smok spirals rba and the screws wont catch anything thinner than about 26ga. I like using 28ga, do you know if this rba can use thinner wire?

It’s kinda weird, but I sort of miss not being able to buy decent vape gear and having to pull off wacky hacks to make things function the way I want. *sigh*. Good times...

What I was hoping for with vaping was I would find a kit, be happy and forget about it and not start fooling around tweaking things.
What actually happened is Im modifying drop in coils from loose draw subohm DL coils to tight draw above ohm MTL coils and modifying rba and rta decks.
The silly part is, everything I want in a tank/rta/clearomizer has been made and I can buy it cheaply. I dont need to lose hours on this stuff....but here I am, sitting in my workshop at my workbench bench at 1:00am experimenting with methods to consistently and easily trap thinner wire in a smok spirals RBA and how to reduce the airflow hole on that rba.
WWhile Im doing that I am vaping on a perfectly functioning berserker and zenith, none of it is lost on me but I cant stop.

Lol. Been there. Hobbies are legal, generally. Even healthy. I ran into a series of YouTube videos recently about a guy in Britain who is “upgrading” an aan old Austin mini by basically completely remanufacturing the vehicle. His assistant is constantly complaining that he makes work for himself that he doesn’t need to. I enjoyed watching it immensely. The car’s name is Binky.

I use 28ga without any problem. Securing coil in Uwell RBA is much easier than in doggy... leggs have no way to escape after a few turns. Top deck is SMJY Doggystyle bottom is Uwell RBA...

For anybody who has Uwell Crown tank it is worth to pay $0.99 for this RBA deck... If you buy 5 decks you can have 5 rebuildable drop in coils in less than half an hour....

I’m a huge Crown fan and I picked up some of them rba’s From eightvape several months ago. It came out years ago but it performs on par with the best tanks of today. The Crown four looks interesting with the new metals in their coils but there was no need for the Crown 2 or 3. It wasn’t broke so they couldn’t fix it.
