I've had a bottle of Wild Cherrylicious for a while and it's pretty good. Recently in my journey to find an ADV i decided to try more of the OSDIY flavors. After reading ALL the reviews on the website i decided to order Arnold Palmer, Blue Pom, Cacti Cooler, and Baked Cinnamon Roll (this one was for a friend).

Got them in and proceeded to mix them each at 10% flavor. Now, from reading the reviews as well as the description on the site i knew i had to shake the heck out of the Arnold Palmer before using it and i did. Shaked all the Flavors before drawing up in a syringe and mixing into glass bottles. Steeped all 4 flavors in the U.S. cleaner for about 3 hours then tested everything on my RDA.

All the flavors except Arnold Palmer were decent but weak flavored for my tastes (i continued to work on these and they did improve quite a bit!). Then i loaded Arnold Palmer. Oh. My. God. I was blown away by the flavor. My girlfriend who may take a puff of my vape maybe once a month tried it and was blown away. Everything else was ignored and i went on to vape the 30ml bottle in a little over a week.

So, getting close to finishing my first bottle of AP i made 4 more bottles. Same recipe, shook the heck out of the concentrate, same steeping time, same exact process, etc. This time the flavor was extremely lacking, i could barely even sense a hint of lemon. My gf tried it without me telling her i thought it was lacking and she immediately said it tasted very very light. Two other people who tried the first bottle also said the same thing. Now, i'm sure i'm at the point where i'm experiencing vapers fatigue from vaping 30mls of it in about a week but i know something is amiss.

I guess i posted this to get any suggestions or to see if anyone else has experienced the same issue in the past? I won't give up, i will actually be placing an order for 4oz of Arnold Palmer and some of the other flavors this afternoon to give it another shot with a fresh bottle. The first bottle of AP is my holy grail of ejuice, it WILL work out! :vapor:

P.S. Here's the recipe i used both times... OSDIY 12MG Mix.jpg

Hi elwood2,

There are lots of factors that can contribute to weak flavoring. A couple of things that I noticed is the VG % and the flavoring %. I find that Arnold Palmer is pretty good at 10% in a PG heavy mixture. When we test flavor strength, we always use an 85% PG / 15% VG blend. The reason for this is because PG is a far better flavor carrier than VG.

I would recommend to try the following -
Try a different atomizer
Adjust your volts/watts (if able)
Decrease the VG % or add more flavoring to compensate for the flavor dampening that VG causes.

Let me know if any of these suggestions help.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried adding an additional 5% flavoring to the mix and it helped very slightly. I've tried it on my RDA as well as an EVOD at different wattage with similar results. I am placing an order for another bottle of AP right now just to rule out anything funky with my current bottle and will adjust the mixture on my next batch.

Do you have an iclear16 or some similar tank type atomizer you could mix up a batch at 85% PG / 15% VG as the final ratio and see how the flavor comes through?

Good call. I have a couple iclear30's somewhere that came with my MVP 2's. I'll give it a shot. I actually just remembered something i did different the second time...after steeping in the U.S. cleaner for 2-3hrs in uncapped glass bottles i immediately filled one HDPE bottle for work the next day and went to bed. The other 3 bottles stayed in the U.S. cleaner until the next morning (around 12hours after steeping, 14-15hrs uncapped total) when my gf bottled them for me.

I wonder if this particular flavor has a tendency to evaporate?

You should not need to steep the Arnold Palmer and I would not suggest doing so with the cap off, flavor molecules of any flavor may escape, especially the larger ones :)

Also as our flavors are bottled in blue glass, sunlight is not a concern :)

Thanks for the info. This makes me happy to think i may have my holy grail of ejuice back within a few hours!! I can't wait to get home and shake-n-vape!

Ok, I was out last night so i didn't have time to respond with the results... I mixed up a bottle at 70pg/30vg, 12mg nic, shook the heck out of it and filled a brand new iclear30. Gave it a few mins to make sure the wicks were saturated and gave it a few primer puffs. Started out at 6w on my MVP 2 and ended up around 9w's. Didn't get any flavor ,except the new, "raw" silica taste (i definitely don't miss that since switching to cotton) and barely any vapor even at 9w's.

I gave up on the iclear30 and filled up my kayfun. I actually tasted the lemon a bit. On a scale of 1 to 10 comparison to the first bottle i would said it was a 2 comparatively. I got my gf to try it and she said it tasted similar to the first bottle.

I do believe that something went slightly wrong with my second batch. Either i messed up with measuring and/or steeping it and letting it sit uncapped for nearly 16hrs had some effect on the end result.

In conclusion, the concentrate is fine. The issue is that I am experiencing the worse case of vapers fatigue that i've ever had. I think it became extremely apparent with the second batch because the flavor was so lacking due to my mistakes. I believe one of the reasons i am able to taste what little flavor i can in the new batch is because of the higher PG ratio as well as i've been vaping Blue Pom for the last few days.

I'm glad i figured out what the issue was. I happily won't be steeping OSDIY flavors anymore as it's amazing straight up shake-n-vaped! Can't wait to try the new flavors this weekend that i ordered. I appreciate all the help and please keep the flavors coming!:vapor:
