Hi all!

20 yr smoker 1-2 packs a day. Been trying to kick smoking forever (i used to say quitting smoking isnt hard- i do it ALL the time!).

I have been seeing more and more people with these big long lightsabers around town when i am out for smoke breaks. A few weeks ago i started asking one person about it, and got really intrigued. I have been hesitant whenever i hear "e-cig" because I just didnt know the health risks- and never took the time to research it. Well I took the time over a weekend and scoured the web and decided to take the plunge.

I live in Austin, and headed to ZeeCigs. Shawns a helluva great guy. Explained it all to me in terms appropriate for my "experience". Started vaping the minute i left the store. Got an EGO-C kit with upgrade batteries (non-twist).

My wife still smokes- also 1-2 packs a day. After one week of vaping, the smell is grossing me out bigtime from analogs! Thats huge!!!!

Once a day or so ive been having ONE analog at the end of the day- just to "compare". And man, its gross. The film in the mouth, heaviness in the lungs, SMELL, etc-- just makes me feel like i smoked sewage. Im completely satisfied with vaping and have no desire for analogs. Im SOO happy!

So now im an engineer and a big gadget collector. So this could be an expensive replacement habit with so many options available! Im already looking into the EGO-CC clearomiser, and even the new eMode which looks cool.

Happy to be here- there arent many folks day to day i can talk with about this stuff so im glad i found this place!

Welcome and congrats on your decision. Sounds like you will start along the upgrade route but that can be a good thing. Just leave your older units around where your wife can find them. Fill them with juice you think she might like and perhaps she will join you in letting go of the stinky sticks.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome- I am so excited.

A few questions for an eGo newbie if you dont mind--

1) How can i clean out the tanks? Ive seen people saying you can "pop off the end" but i cant do this- it seems glued on or ultra tight. I want to rinse them out when there is just a little left and i want to change flavors.

2) Do i need to clean the atomizer? Some say it doesnt really help increase longevity.

3) Ive been looking at clearomisers. Aside from some increased capacity in liquid storage, is there a difference in amount of vapor. flavor, etc?

Thanks in advance!

Good for you!! I'm on Day 18 here, just north of you in P'ville. I hope you get the desired results, working for me so far. The wife thing is tough, mine still thinks I'm huffing antifreeze even though I've shown her some articles on Vaping and the benefits vs smoking. Maybe both of ours will come around and pick up a vape. I've got a brand new Innokin Itaste V3 waiting for her and plenty of different juices too. Good luck and good vaping!!

Welcome to the "I used to stink like that?" club........................... Its nice.....really nice to not ruin your car, stink up you house and cloths..... Have people give you strained polite looks when they get to close to you......

Whats so bad is that most of us didnt even realize (or wanted to accept) that we stunk so badly.

My wife grossed me out with her stinkies the very next day after I started. She sparked one up in the car, and I thought I was gonna hurl. Strange to me, I've never minded 2H smoke before, mighta been whatever cheap rotgut she had on hand at the time.

Took a week or so, but I got her to take an e-cig similar to mine. A few days of vaping combined with smoking, she finally gave up the smoking.

Just work on her, she'll come around, especially if you let her sample your best flavors! (Banana Cream brought mine around.)

I hear ya! Yesterday we had a 1hr road trip. When she lit up and rolled the windows down, i found myself acting like those annoying non-smokers.. "ugh, please.. do you HAVE to smoke now? Cant you wait until we get where we are going? Gross.. pew..." :)

This whole post completely describes the transformation I have gone thru in the last six weeks as I moved to vaping from analogs!
