How much you spend will depend on how much you vape.

e-cigs that look like cigarettes and are designed to be semi disposable and used on occasions where cigarettes are not allowed.

If you are trying to replace a 40 a day habit they will quickly drive you nuts.

Never ending multiple battery charging and changing is not fun.

Heavy smokers would be better served with a larger battery mod style as the battery is cheaper and will last for 5 - 8 hrs instead of the 1.5 - 2 hrs you get from the small cig like models.

That said for the first 2-3 weeks a small e-cig or minimum 2 kits, can be a good device for learning and also for deciding if vaping is for you.

I use a ScrewDriver with RN4075 atomisers.
What do I spend ....
Buying local UK £20 per week - e-Cigs /TW/ Janty Netherlands -- Atomisers carts liquid my batteries come from DX (Dealextreme) .
If I bought in bulk from china then I would halve that but I prefer the liquid I get from the local suppliers.

Compared to the £65 a week I was spending on cigarettes I am saving £££.

In the beginning - first 3 months I was spending as much as I did on regular cigs and unless you are really lucky I doubt you will save anything to begin with.

I would like more info on barteby & janty stick
I'm a propane driver and don't want somthing that looks like cig or ....
i have a e-8 it just plain bad:mad:
i am rough on things and work up to 16 hr days need :mad:help

If you checked my links above you see what a bartleby looks like and here's a janty stick (on right):

dondaboomvape-albums-pictures-used-posts-picture2651-screwdriver-janty-stick.jpg

The bartleby is just a tad wider. They both are smaller in length than any ecig and fit nicely in the palm for stealth vaping. It doesn't look like a cig or .... and as some here have suggested - if asked, you could say it's a medical device, personal vaporizer for your emphysema to dispence medicine. The bartleby has a 900mAh batt which would last a day (ymmv, depending on how much you vape) and comes with 2 batteries and a charging cord that could be used in a cigarette lighter or a wall plug - both need to be 1amp chargers for using it as a passthrough but what's nice about that is once you get where you're going, you have a fully charged batt and you're good for a day. And again, if you take the other battery along with your juice, if you run out pop the other battery in and you're good for another day.

That's not quite as good with the Janty Stick which has a 340mAh (maybe 360, I forget) but still it's good for 4-6 hours and you get two of those with the JS kit. Same deal with the charger - built in to the stick and use the same mini usb as a passthrough when stationary or in the car/truck with a cig lighter plug.

Both cases are plastic, but with a few exceptions even the metal mods have switches that would be vulnerable to dropping.

Price wise and quality wise you can't go wrong with the nicostick. Make your own from the sticky or one of our members sells them. I can't remember his page but a search for nicostick should find it. Get your charger and batteries from Flashlights, Batteries, etc : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby! (thanks Hellen A. Handbasket). The batteries will last most all day unless you vape like me and then you might use 2 batteries. For those who don't want their PV to look like an analog this is perfect and your expendables are the atty and some really cheap batteries.

SPYGLASS!

It looks to me as if you are ordering that JOYE 510 in the box.

NO!!!!!!

You want the JOYE 510 'no box'.

It's about $30.00 cheaper!!!!

I ordered the Joye 510 starter kit from Health Cabin for $50 with shipping. And I also ordered a Joye 510 starter kit from cignot (no box) and it was $40 with shipping. So $10 difference. But, I got a pink one from HC and black from cignot.

I ordered some pre-filled cartridges and sample juices from NHaler.

I am sure you can save money unless you can't help yourself from buying. I think we all need to stock up because it may get where these are hard to come by. I averaged spending $867.00 a month on eciigs and supplies. The cost of my cigarette habit cost we $483 a month. So I have loss $384 a month but I have enough to last me about 18 months.

Don't know if I can stop buying since everytime I say I am not going to buy more there will be a good sale.

I just placed my first order for starter kits to start vaping. That is a concern of mine. I called my local smoking shop and the salesperson told me that the owner will not sell e-cig supplies because she wants to see what the FDA ruling is gonna be first. I hope the supplies don't become hard to get or become super expensive. :(

Kurt had mentioned the cartomizer style e-cigs cost more, less choice in flavors, etc.

I am wondering if the cartomizers are 100% non refillable? I know the atty isn't going to last long since the whole unit costs less than $3 but it seems it probably would last at least 2-3 cart fulls.

I know they are probably sealed & difficult to refill but I am curious as to if this is possible?

Thanks!

I am new here, but I know they are refillable. I saw a "How To" video on You Tube. The guy said he refills them multiple times.

I made up a cost comparison sheet for myself, comparing the costs of buying 1 $5 pack per day, rolling my own smokes, and using an e-cig.

For the e-cig, I factored in going through 1 atomizer every month, 1 battery every 3 months, and 430ml of e-juice per year. I left out my PCC cost, the vg and pg I bought, the Lorann flavorings I will buy, and equipment like bottles, pipettes, etc that I bought. I had based it off of getting it through one website but ended up going the 60mg route off freedomsmokes, which all together (along with flavoring, vg, pg) is right around the same price, maybe $20 more for the year or so. Of course, it's a good idea to have extras of attys, batteries, etc around so I will likely be a little "ahead" of my costs at all times, but it averages out over the long haul obviously.

Summary of my Comparisons:

Buying $5 pack a day: Week ($35) Month ($150) Year ($1825)

Rolling my own: Week ($10) Month ($43) Year ($525)

E-cig: Week ($4.85) Month ($20.18) Year ($242.16)

Remember, these are estimations only, but they are actually pretty damn close. I know some of the top two categories don't fully translate over, I left off the cents so thats why. Figured the cents were actually needed for the week category of the e-cig lol, so I decided to put them in. Realistically, I would say the e-cig total costs for 1 full year for me will be between $270-$285, while always being maybe around $30 or so "ahead" for extra attys and batts. I probably have one of the cheaper e-cig setups, using a Joye 510 while cutting my own high-mg liquid. Even if you go one of the most expensive e-cig routes, use cartomizers, what have you...you're still going to slaughter the hell out of buying cig packs from a store.

One more thing: I just got my e-cig on Oct. 22nd so it's been around 3 weeks for me. Factoring in everything I have bought so far, I should come out even (compared to $5 per day on packs) sometime next week. And I don't have to buy a damn thing for probably close to 4-5 months.

I got about 10 different E-Cig devices and have spent about 1000 dollars and made many mistakes...... Started with a 510 and thought it was great..... So, I bought a PCC, case, Portable Power Device, and PassThrough....... I thought I had it all...... After all that, I found it wasn't strong enough.......
I listened to others and invested in 801 and 901...... Then I tried the High Volt Silver Bullet..... Then got the GG Transformer...... I love my GG......For a 3.6 or 6.0 Mod, I think it is the best...... GG came out with the AFS which allows me to vape many hours without refilling liquids.......
For me, 3.6 was too weak and 6.0 too harsh...... So, I got the GLV 5.0 Volt..... The GLV, to me is the closest thing to a real cigarette......
After all that money and experience, I use my GG on the go, and when am stationary, I use my GLV...... Could have saved a lot of money if I had just waited, learned from the ECF and bought my two favorites......

Well maybe over the long haul they get cheaper, but i know from my personal experience they have not been and thats ok . I guess i shouldnt have said i laugh because it seems like some took it personal ,i was just saying ecigs become like a hobby and a quest to find that perfect one and that does become kinda of costly so untill you stop buying anything other than what you just need its not gonna be cheap. E-cigs could cost 3 times what cigs cost and it would still be worth every dime ive ever spent !!!!!!

if you dont get ecig mania and buy liquid every week then e cigs can be extremely cheap. if you get the 510 starter kit from cignot that is 35 dollars inital investment so we wont count that. if you are a pack a day smoker then with cigarettes at 6-7 dollars a pack that is only a weeks worth of cigarettes.

but you buy two batteries, that is 30 dollars (about). then there is atomizers, you should always have three. that is 24 dollars. then juice. if you order juice from aromaejuice.com it is only 15 dollars for 30 mls and 30 mls will last about two weeks

so as long as you dont order 6 bottles of juice every week e cigs are very cheap

Was the FSC changeover on analogs. My Marlboro Reds tasted terrible with the extra paper and chemicals added to auto extinguish them after just a few seconds. Plus, with the damn things going out all the time, I was relighting constantly. When I complained to Phillip Morris, they just shrugged and said thank the government. I told them I thought they owned the government all these years! Camels were the only non FSC analogs still available in Missouri when I started vaping.

Politicians have picked on cigarette smokers for 30 years now, and "sin taxed" the hell out of us. A $5.00 pack of smokes is about $3.00 of taxes to the State/Feds. I guarantee if vaping takes off mainstream, the government will find a way to tax the hell out of it.

As for monetary cost savings, I was a 2 pack a day smoker, and I'm not caught up in the e-cig mania. My 510's w/ mega batts are just fine for me, and I don't see myself getting "grass is greener" syndrome. I know I'll spend extra $'s on juice trying different flavors, but think I'll eventually settle into several that I really, really enjoy, and start buying larger bottles to save money there also.

At $360 a month, I can afford a lot of juice, extra Atty's/Batt's on occasion and still be way ahead of the game.

Also, can't put a price on breathing so much better either! :)

Oh yeah, that FSC stuff is tasty indeed - bands of this stuff on the paper to slow the burn:
