Hi ECF and thanks for having me.

Ex-analog smoker here (always used to roll my own).

My setup as follows:
Mod-box: Vaporesso switcher 220W TC
Atomizer: HorizonTech Arco 2 tank (with some spare coils rated 80W-90W)
Batteries: 2xSamsung 30Q
Liquid: ~70VG/~30PG (with equal parts of nic+salts)
Operation: TC-Mode - 180C@65W
Fav. juice: Black Note Sonata or Prelude

...so far, so good :)

Opinions?

Honestly I have no major opinions on your vape. I don't vape sub0hm so I can't say much other than I have some vapresso mods and I like them.

But, I'm curious what opinions you would like to hear? If you are comfortable and satisfied, that's all that counts.

I will say, if you are vaping steadily and not smoking by now, buy a backup vape setup. If you want opinions on THAT I am sure you will get plenty.

Welcome, etc.

I have no opinion on your gear or juice, but....

If you don't have the urge to smoke then your setup is fine.. If you have the urge to smoke then something aint right....

For every person that will vary so refer to if you still have the urge to smoke or not..

The important thing is that you're getting a good vape from it. At the end of it all, that's all that matters. I'm not familiar with that tank, so didn't know they made temp control coils for it. Nice that they do.

Thanks for that - I just found out they allow TC (I just learned that now!).

I got the HorizonTech Arco 2 because of its "longevity promises" (as reviewed by some popular online sources) and I must admit I'm happy with it because one o/t coils lasted me for ages (I went for 6000+ drags on a single coil with flavourless liquid).

The other "like" o/t Arco 2 coils is the flax fiber (guess that's what make them more resilient?)

Thank you for your advice - I did already get a "backup setup" - this is b/c my sis-in-law has moved in for a couple of months and I was able to get her off analogs by borrowing her my backup setup

At 180C I highly doubt that TC is working properly...

80% of the mods out there that claim TC functionality use it as a selling feature and have a very poor implementation of it. Some manufacturers even have a completely non functional TC (Smok & iJoy) but still list it as a feature.

No opinions, just surprise. Kind of rare to see sub ohmers do DTL with tobacco, especially NET. I only vape tobacco, mostly NET now. I've done DTL, but only with low nic fruit or dessert flavors.
Just glad it works for you. Anything to avoid smoking is good!

Been off rollies since May 2018 and not regretting it a bit - I did quit rollies for 4y at once but I then started to put on some weight, so I casually restarted again & was able to manage analogs only on weekends.

Smoking on weekend was still an issue b/c my kids hated my stinking hands and mouth and they kept at a distance.

Since vaping, no more worries (I discreetly vape, never in front of my kids).

Good question - AFAIK, the Vaporesso Switcher is based on OmniBoard 2.0 and it seems a pretty common board.

In my experience, as long as the vapour I get is "not warm", I'm fine (I don't like it too warm)

I mix nic salts to freebase nic to make the liquid more "bearable" (less "peppery")
Neat idea. Altho if the salts get expensive I'd imagine that you could find a less peppery nic supplier possibly. Some good clean stuff out there nowadays. And, welcome to the forum sir!

Thank you very much - The first time I got nic, I trusted my business to some unspecified Russian shop which posted me a small batch of the worst nic ever!

The next time around I sampled an excellent 100PG freebase+salts from reputable NZ sources.

Now I'm stocked by keeping this stuff hidden deep in the freezer and I'm expecting for it to last me for years :)

All that matters is that it works for you, anything else is just noise.

I think this is the most important post.

Most everything about vaping is personal preference except battery safety. You can listen all day to people tell you something is awesome, but it might not be for you.

It's important to just read, watch, and understand then form your own opinion and decision based on the facts.

Stick with it! That's what is really important, that you stay away from cigs.
