I am working with another member here to improve the capacity on the orchid, and in turn make it what it should have been in the first place.I got a couple kayfun quartz kits, and sent them out this morning to the other member, who has the tools and ability to cut glass. In stock form, the full size quartz kit is about 1/4"-3/8" too tall,so he is going to cut it to get the max height while still getting a seal with the chimney. This will do 2 things,1 it will increase the capacity,in stock form i can get 3ml when bottom filling,i figure with the extra height,it may be able to hold at least 4ml,possibly a bit more, not sure yet.2nd it seems that the plastic tank is an issue for alot of people,so using the quartz kit will solve that issue as well.
As far as filling your's,i have the same version as you.Someone posted a while back about bottom filling,so i tried it,and it works great. If you unscrew the base all the way so the threads seperate from the tank, then you pull it apartjust enough to fit a blunt tip needle in there, you can fill it with a syringe and blunt tip needle or i use a needle top cap on my bottle.Just keep the juice level at least 1/4" below the threads of the tank so it doesnt get forced out when you screw the base back down. This method works very good, and no leaks.
