One of my cats loves my desk chair. Every time I get out of it she jumps into it. Sometimes when she see's me walking to it she'll run jump into it real quick. It's funny.

I had a cat like that.. Cisko. He would see you coming, jump in it, and pretend to be asleep... Was really funny.

Hello, Origin!
I'm new to this contest, so I went to check out your site and it was really nice! Great selection and excellent presentation. I'm impressed.

Also, I'm a cat lover so your contest theme was appreciated.

Here's one of my favorites:

This one is actually a vintage analog synthesizer by Octave, called 'The Cat'. When I took an electronic music class in 1983, the main teaching tool used was an ARP 2600, a huge modular synth which, unfortunately, broke down in the middle of the semester. The teacher brought in his Cat as a replacement. It was perfect for the task because it was a streamlined and simple layout, and great for helping newbies understand the basics of synthesis.

Thanks for the contest!

Thank you so much for the kind words Noble Gas!! :)

A couple people have mentioned the Maine .... (aka American Longhair). A friend of mine and her husband got one of those, several years ago. It was black, and always looked a bit dissheveled and wild. It was undoubtedly the smartest cat I've ever known. Even as a kitten, it was remarkably, noticeably intelligent. I would play games with it and it would determine what I was planning just by watching my eyes. My friend's husband did a wonderful thing for that kitty - he built a carpeted shelf that ran along the walls of their apartment, about eight feet off the floor. There were three or four points the cat could jump onto the shelf, and it would race along it at breakneck speeds and pounce onto the furniture from all over the place. Friendly, curious and always active, it was a great little cat, and I loved it dearly. Sadly, it became very shy when it reached adulthood (and also really BIG), and whenever I would visit it would come out and say hello briefly, then slip back into the master bedroom and not come out 'til all the company had left.

We have a lot of Maine Coons in my neck of the woods. Even most of the "mongrels" are part Maine ..... They really are intelligent and great cats!
