Torrey Pines Golf Course: Unlike many top-rated golf courses, Torrey Pines is a public course owned by the City of San Diego and situated on the cliffs above Blacks Beach and the Pacific Ocean. It plays host to the Farmer's insurance Open (known, previously, as the Buick Invitational), and, in 2008, also hosted the U.S. Open (which is also slated to return in 2021). The course is bracketed by the historic Torrey Pines Glider Port to the south (one of the few remaining take off points for non-engine, fixed-wing craft and considered to be one of the premier soaring sites in the country) and the Torrey Pines Reserve to the north.

The most successful of the captive breeding programs you mention is the one run by the San Diego Zoo Safari Park I mentioned a few days ago.

Here is a piece of trivia..... Who (without Google) knows what a monsoon really is?

ME. Change of wind patterns / usually resulting in >50% of annual rainfall within a 3 month period.



A typical haboob preceding a monsoon storm (today's).
we also get micro bursts which is a sudden downshaft of wind but leaves results like a tornado.
It just doesn't have the circular wind pattern of a tornado, nor does it travel.
Did I get it right?

I guess with 300 days of sun, those 65 days of weather is pretty exciting stuff around here.
