Hawaiian culture is pretty interesting, I'd love to visit (but not for long - warm climate areas and I don't get along very well!) and learn more. And the food culture, one of my highest priorities when considering any region.

The mythologies of many cultures have always been of interest to me.... First on the list: Greek.

I also must agree with you Count...I love Mythology...and also the Greek Gods & Goddesses....The stories of how people saw strange things and tried to understand them...it has always fascinated me..

I started to write a book (that never got finished of course :p) that extrapolated a way to explain the existence of the different gods and beings of all the world's religions from a biblical Christian standpoint, since there are miracles and "proofs" in all religions. The basic premise was that when Lucifer and a "third of the stars in heaven" were cast out, they set themselves up as gods on the earth. There are a lot of tales in Greek mythology about half god offspring, and the bible talks about those angels mating with humans also...... Just an idea I had and wanted to put on paper :p
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

I lived in the jungles of Honduras with the army about 20 years ago. Most of the rural people live in extreme poverty without even enough food for themselves, but they were the most giving people.

My 6 month rotation down there turned in to a 9 month. I still would not take it back. If given the opportunity there was some great climbing to be done there.
And yes, once you got away from the "Dami" kids, and tourist traps, it was a great place to be at the time.

Sounds interesting, USMCotaku. The nephalim aren't very much considered, are they?

I attended a parochial high school although I was not (nor was my family) religious in any way. That meant that I approached all of the religious classes more as a scholar rather than as a believer, and made for some very interesting study. One of my teachers aspired to teaching a comparative religion course, but couldn't because of the school's curriculum. However, in teaching the Old Testament, he was able to slide in an extra-credit topic in comparing it to the Epic of Gilgamesh. Most of my fellow classmates chose other assignments, but I found the comparison to be quite fascinating. And so, another culture that I find intriguing is that of ancient Babylon (as well as the similar culture/mythology of Sumer).

What cultures other then your own do you find most intriguing and why?

The Holland Culture intrigues me because of their language, food, clothing and their ways of doing things! Sure love their windmills and the beer and don't forget the wooden shoes! I really love Heineken Beer, I'm drinking one right now! :toast: I believe I'd like to go there for sure, well all of the Netherlands, it's on my list, right after Australia! :)
