How about a pot luck dinner party, and invite...

Jacques Pépin, Wolfgang Puck, Paul Prudhomme, Joël Robuchon, Julia Child, James beard

Not an entry

Julia Child used to rent a house down the road from me. She always made an annual pilgrimmage to a local restaurant to get her fix of fried food.

Her whole entourage would come into the restaurant, and they would push a bunch of tables together, then bring out huge platters of every fried seafood on the menu. Clams, haddock, scallops and shrimp, plus french fries and onion rings. Everyone would just keep loading their plates from the platters.

It was so much fun listening to her talk. She got so excited about it, and loved everything. Whoever happened to be cooking that day was always a wreck though. It was pretty scary to be cooking for the French Chef! The restaurant's name was Connie's. It's no longer in business now. They didn't serve alcohol there, and the summer people can't have their meal without wine, so as soon as they voted for us not to be a dry island, they went to the restaurants that serve wine, and she went out of business.

Bill and Ted seemed to have a decent gang:
Napoleon, Billy the Kid, Socrates, Ludwig van Beethoven, Abraham Lincoln, and Genghis Khan (I'm leaving out Joan of Arc--because she'd just go on and on and on about her faith--and Sigmund Freud, because he'd just spend his time asking about everyone's mother).

Thanks Ladybear!
