Oh. Sooo it's intended to be useless?;) Thank you! I'll stick with the pipette for my purposes.
Yeah, the flow looks pretty slow for anything but the strongest flavorings where you really do only want a drop or two in a whole batch. I hear tell, though (I don't have any of them myself) that you can fit a blunt-tip needle through the opening, if that suits your mixing style. I don't think they were designed with that intent, however, so it might just damage the insert just enough that the opening is a little wider and the drops flow a little faster. And of course you wouldn't want to damage a valuable, useless bottle insert, that you don't even use otherwise, like that, wink wink nudge nudge.

I've gotten the blue bottle OSDIY products with that thingamagizmo plugged in the top. No clue how it's intended to function. I just pop it out and use a pipette or syringe.
They are called a European dropper insert (or Euro dropper) and they are intended to permit one drop at a time to come out when inverted (not the most useful for DIYers:(). @Kurt likes these for use with syringes. He has said that 18ga fits nicely but you can bore it out if you want to use larger. Use the search box and search "euro" and user "Kurt" to see his postings. :)

That's what I did with them. I couldn't get a single drop out, & single drops don't work unless I'm just doing a tasting. I mix with a scale now, so use droppers.
