We live almost in the center of town and this fellow decided to use our back yard as a place to rest and get some relief from the rain.
Sorry about the image quality, my canon was in the car so I had to use a point and shot from my desk drawer.

K9 you can have ours ,he is killing our small birds :( saw him grab one this morning ....

Sadly, I hate when that happens. Seems like we get more hawks looking for food with all of the development around us. We even had a bald eagle visit for a few days. Talk about a BIG bird! The hawk that lives in our neighboorhood regularly swoops thru our backyards, not much more than 10 feet off the ground, chasing some other bird as prey.

Nice photo Charlie! I too love birds of prey and yep they gotta eat too. I think I have a owl living in a big palm tree in my front yard. I'm finding what looks like 'owl pellets' at the base. Lots of interesting stuff, mouse feet, fur, feathers, bones, other stuff i can't ID all in a nice, neat little pile.

I could have sworn I commented earlier today about loving the diverse wildlife we can experience here in Florida.

I work at a hotel so deal with tourists a lot, and we have a very good sized lagoon ... so yep, the occasional gator shows up. Sometimes I think I worry the guests with how relaxed I am about it when they report it to me. :)
