I was talking about the link price you posted ! the nic part sorry
I have to agree with you there. I normally buy PC stuff from NewEgg but Amazon is definitely throwing out some competition lately. BTW, if you use Firefox, there's an add on called Invisible Hand. What it does is when shopping for items it will tell (and show) you where the cheapest price is. I use it myself and it works great.Oh LOL...no Mike I'm not quite that naive!! I have been researching for about a week now. I posted here to make sure I understand what I already thought would fit our needs and get feedback from our super smart Army
I usually buy computer parts from Newegg but Amazon has been kicking their ... in price on a lot of things lately!
Correction, to help you save money. lolDamn, just what I need is an addon to help me spend mo' money!
Thank you all SO much for your help and suggestions!
You can do it all for under $50.00
Sounds like my house. We have a 4 port router and 4 port hub connected to that, all ports are full. 3 PC's, 3 Xbox's and a PS3. lol We stream Netflix and Hulu a lot to. I'm a hardcore gamer, so if I'm not watching something on Netflix I'm gaming. Netflix and Hulu are almost always streaming on the other systems. With both of us streaming to two different devices or gaming at the same time, a low priced router wouldn't have worked well for us. That's why I chose the dual band router. If it were left up to me I would run cat5 through the attic and hardwire everything...but it's not up to me and MIL won't let me do it.
In the house I had before I married Kev, I ran the cable for 4 rooms through the attic and dropped the it down through the walls. Of course, I'm older and fatter now LMAO!

It's a shame the MIL feels this way. It would add value to the real estate.
It's also a shame newegg has slipped in my opinion over the past few years. They used to be great, now just meh. I use Provantage for a lot of things now. They carry so much stuff it can be hard to find the right item, but they are so cheap. The first year I used them I reduced costs by 57% on our network. I'd imagine their customer service is elusive, but I've haven't needed it yet.
I gotta see and hold that kind of stuff. It's brick n mortar for me on computor gear. Besides I'm to impatient.
5C, a lot of the time I'll go to some place like Best Buy or Comp USA and look, take notes and then price it on line when I get home. The things I am most picky about are my keyboard and track ball. I HATE hate hate using a mouse!!! I have used the same style Logitech track ball for over 10 years LOL. They are getting hard to find so last time I bought 2 so I'd have a spare in case this one dies.

Where I'm at, there is a huge amount of inefficiency. Honest to god, we have more printers than we do employees. Seriously. And most of them are color lasers. Provantage can be quite high on some things, like Bovinia's wireless adapters - they price at $70+dollars!! But overall they have saved me a lot of money. Between them, Amazon, buy.com and occasionally newegg - I've saved a lot of money.
Where do you go in Tacoma? I used to live in Olympia.
