Got a bit of a dilemma. While waiting for the R&D Division at the Reosmods Headquarters to come out w/ the P68, or whatever it wil be called, I want to dedicate an on-hand mod to my daily commute. Call me lazy. I just don't like dragging my Reos in between home, work, and a place in the mountains. I like having one at each locale, permanently. So, I have a 45 minute one-way commute to work. That is too far for me using a cartomizer. I almost pulled the trigger on a VVG, but I'd rather wait on what Rob has up his sleeve.

So I think a tank setup to throw on one of my existing lower caste mods (Buzz, GLV, Groove, even my Darwin but I can't see that working) might be the answer. I've never found a tank I liked but that has been over a year ago. I won't spend a $100 for something that is going to go in the trash once the "P68" shows up.

Any suggestions on something that is easy to use (i.e. no fancy genesis rebuildable...)? Is there a decent DCT out there? Are the DCTs better than something like the vivi nova?

Thanks.

P.S. I do use juices that are high VG (70 to 90%)!

That looks Perfect. Thanks. I like that the tubes are pyrex.

Do you pop off the top cap to refill? I have a bunch of cartos to use up. I guess I need a punch too.

I noticed their cartos have a flange. Is that required? What purpose does it serve?

Thanks again.

Ibtanked tanks are great. They're super thick and you won't find anything better in the price range.

The tanks should come with a fill tool. You take your drip tip out and replace it with the tool, then slide the whole tank up about an inch or inch and a half. Then you drip your juice in there and slide the tank back down. The tool protects your orings when your slide it back in.

Its pretty easy actually.

I don't like flanged cartos. All they do is prevent the tank from sliding down. You can use whatever kind of cartos as long as they're the right size.

Man, I can't imagine using any kind of tank EVER again no matter how long or short the time period or task at hand.

Another REO would be purchased and dedicated to what ever need that a tank could possibly serve.

Kinda like going back to riding a skateboard around town after driving a car?

I like the locking DCT tanks. I think they were called Artemas (sic) on discount vapers and I think UDCT in other places. The tank itself is plastic, so it will crack from your scary atomic cinnamon orange juices. But the nice thing about it is that it's stupidly easy to refill, and it never, ever, ever leaks. As in, it is impossible to slide it off the carto by design. And they're very cheap.

If you don't mind paying extra few bucks, and prefer pyrex, you can't go wrong with IBTanked.

I do have to ask though -- what is wrong with travelling a Reo? They're a perfect mod for moving around -- compact, leak proof, indestructible... I actually leave my tank setup at work "just in case", and run around with a Reo.

Laziness. I've been dragging around my Reos but I'm getting old and cranky. I have too much stuff to remember to transport every morning/evening. I have one of the cheapo Groove VV models. It has a li-polymer battery so it should last weeks between charges. Temperature swings are pretty radical here and hard on batteries. And I guess I need to rationalize buying the Groove thing.

I just want something to last until Rob's newest mod. If he's looking for any beta testers, this will be my only plea :). Well, maybe not.

Gary, a couple of suggestions. Since you use such high VG, thin the juice you put into the tank a little bit with distilled water. Also, be sure and prep the cartomizer. There is a thread on here someplace about fiddling with your thingy. Read the 1st post in that, at least. A "thingy" is the little plastic tube that your ibtanked tank will come in. It will help you in prepping your carto. :)

I have used a LOT of different carto tanks and I realize you have already ordered but I wanted to throw out there that the best I have used by a fair margin is the Cartomator from Vaperfexion. It just flat works. great every time. It is the only tank I have ever used that I never have to take dry pulls on to keep the juice flowing. It's only drawback is the capacity of 3ml for the one that takes standard length Boge cartos.

Second would be the Prive tank by Kir Fanis. Really like the fill hole in the top of the cap. I still use some tanks on my Provari as I have some tabacco based flavors that just taste best to me in a tank.

I have or have had: Cartomator, Prive, Phiniac, J-Tank, DCT, U-DCT, Valley View Vapes pyrex, Sub tanks, IB Tanked Pyrex, Bella Tanks, Jon Boy Lava tank, Cirrus tank, MAP tank. Reactor tank

I'll order one of those Cartomators. What the heck, they're cheap. $31 for a pyrex one with an added fill port - That's cheap enough to try just for kicks. Who knows, maybe I'll use up the 100's of cartos I have. I messed around w/ MAP tanks and didn't like them. But they were the CE2 type.

I wonder why that one worked better than others? Are the carto holes punched differently or something?

I slot my own cartos with a dremel tool. I think a big thing with carto tanks is the way the o-rings seal to the cartomizer. Some are too loose and and some are too tight. A really tight one like a J Tank or Phiniac is nice for pocketability, you dont have to worry about the tank slipping off in your pocket but they seal too well causing a vacuum lock that sometimes does not allow the juice to flow well. Cheap DCT tanks allow the juice to flow but are very slidey and leaky because they do not have a tight enough seal. I think the cartomator just has the perfect dimensions to allow the right combination of sturdy tight seal but not so tight that it vacuum locks. That's my theory anyway.

I definitely recommend slotting your own cartos with high vg content liquid as well.
