Nice dog, Tache. What a sweet face.

This is off topic but I'd like to share this story.

That's one of my boys from a litter eight years ago. Pirate, (Ch Greygunn's Cinnamon Stick) is a very special dog. I co-own him with my friend, Doc. Quite a few years ago Doc had a massive heart attack and Pirate saved his life, not only once, but twice.

On the day, Pirate "herded" Doc to his bed and kept licking his face to keep him conscious. Doc managed to call his daughter to get help using his cellphone literally minutes before cell service went out in the area. Doc "died" on the table three times and was resuscitated with defibrillation. Several months later on the way back home from rehab, Pirate, who usually lays quietly on the passenger seat, started pawing and pawing at Doc. Now Doc is a little hard of hearing and he hadn't noticed that his heart monitor was going off. He finally looked down and saw that he had gone into tachacardia (sp?) rhythm. So he pulled into a hospital where they kept him overnight, with Pirate keeping watch in the truck.

Now, I'm not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm very proud of this picture I took (as well as being totally proud of Pirate). I feel honoured to have the gift of such a dog in my life, and very thankful for what he was able to do for Doc.
