Hello,

I'll get straight to the details here. Been vaping for 5 months solid. Never had an issue whatsoever with shortness of breath or any sort of difficulty breathing when vaping. None. Started using a 70/30 pv/vg mix at 9mg nicotine. No problems at all. In the last 10 days I started using some 100% VG, but also using the same 70/30 mix as well.

Last night, out of no where, vaping starts to "hurt" It literally makes me feel short of breath. I feel like if I take a small drag, it hits my chest harder than if I took a long, slow drag. I was vaping last evening up until say 10pm and it was normal, everything on par, no issues. Then all of a sudden the vaping starts hitting my chest harder, I start to feel short of breath. I'm also only 26 years old, have smoked LIGHTLY for 6 years. No issues there either.

I am using an eGo Twist with Vision Vivi Nova 2 (started using the Nova 2's last Wednesday... again no issue until last night) I am vaping around 4.0volts to 4.6 volts.

I am confused... that's for sure. I have no asthma or respiratory health issues. This literally just came out of no where. Should I be worried? Is this common? I am overly frustrated as I am expecting a Provari this week that was very costly. If vaping becomes a problem I will be sorely disappointed.

Again, this started out of the blue late last night. I had been vaping alllll day without a single hitch, then just out of no where, harsher chest hits, slight shortness of breath. If this were a slow onset I could see it, but out of no where?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Maybe it's a night time thing? I'll see how it pans out in the morning. Maybe I am over thinking the symptoms now that they've occurred and am making them worse, but it doesn't feel like it. I could chain vape all night without any of this happening, it's so out of the blue. Really, REALLY don't want to give up vaping :(

*edit* Perhaps I am vaping MORE and am not realizing it as well, which is a possibility. I might be chain vaping more than I think I am, causing this to happen. I'll monitor this. But I swear I could chain vape till the cows come home and don't remember this happening.

Maybe you where chain vaping a lot ? One time i vaped like 8mls and had the same thing that night :p my liquids have always been 18mg and the unflavored i mostly vape is 100%vg from innovapor, the other liquids are mostly 70pg/30vg or all pg

In one night I'd be lucky if I vaped 2ml.. more likely on average 1ml of juice a day and night. It's so weird. I worry for my health obviously but this is completely out of no where. It just seems that the juice is hitting my chest harder than usual, then I'll cough a bit. Which leads to a bit of tightness in my chest and very slight shortness of breath, more of that sensation.

So confused... and frustrated. I wonder if it's a night time thing, that's the only time I ever really vape. I don't vape at all during work days but I will if I'm off work.

Right now I am using new liquids I have never tried before. But I've been using them for 10 days without issue until yesterday. I suppose that's why I am so stunned haha. Most of what I have started vaping is 100% VG compared to 70/30. Like I said, I've been vaping all these liquids problem free for a while now.

I might try dripping again and see if by some chance that makes a difference? This is my first time using vivi nova 2's, but they have been so damn good until the incident. They have made my vaping experience amazing. Maybe I need to slow down, I don't know. I just don't think I am going that hard really.

And my poor provari on the way :( I am looking forward to using it but this is hindering my excitement level hahah

My wife has rather suddenly become "bothered" by vaping, after quitting cigarettes and vaping for many months, maybe a year. Same home-made all-VG juices, very light flavoring, 8mg nic. She finds it irritates her lungs, something like that. None of the juices she tries are acceptable, PG/VG, commercial or home-made. She's just unable to vape. She's actually had a few cigarettes, that don't bother her like that, to get her nic. No idea what it is, it started rather suddenly, a month or so ago.

I have had this same issue several times. I often too get shortness of breath and have been vaping for a year now. I still don't know what causes it. I use juices from 2 different vendors regularly and usually have no problems. I do vape 4-5 mils a day though 16-24mg (used to smoke 2.5 packs a day), not sure if that is the cause. When I do get shortness of breath I take a 2 hour break from the vape and I'm OK again. It happens about 1 to 2 times a week. It is possible I'm inhaling to much of the plumes when this happens, but it is hard to tell if this is what is causing it.

I've had that same problem with certain flavor suppliers vendors use. Mostly caramel and butterscotch. I can use them from some vendors and not others. It's weird.

They contain diacetyl maybe ? I know some do have a small amount wich is consider harmless.

I swapped from 50/50 to 75/25 a while back. It irritated me as well. I think some people can have an allergy to VG and maybe taht through you over the thresh hold as well as a warmer vape. I also believe vg is thicker than pg (may have that backwards) and that it may be causing irritation if you were vaping heavily.

Well it all depends on the juices actually, some are harder than others and not all are made for everybody, go for what suits you best, slow down your intake for a couple days and see how it goes. You have recently being using the vivi nova I'm sure your inhales are far more deeper than your previously dripping inhales. Your body needs to get used to this. When I first vaped with tanks I felt some chest pains its was because of this then when I built the muscular resistance everything was ok.

Also sometimes I've notices with particular juices they tend to give me heartburn, some also vape fairly easily, some thicker ones (vg) requires a lot more effort from your body to obtain your required amount of vapor. It could be several thing actually.

Shortness of breath could come if you are chain vaping and actually your respiratory capacity decreases after vaping for up to 30 minutes.

Give it some more time, try different juices not all are for everybody and if sypmtoms persists of course go to the doctor.

good luck and enjoy the provari!

Thanks for all your replies. I have done most of what's been suggested here, especially cleaning the heads and such.

So far I am still confused as to what caused this to happen. I've vaped the last two days now and haven't really had that incident again. I also stopped vaping one type of liquid I had, perhaps that was the culprit. The other thing I was considering was perhaps the way I am sitting on the couch while I vape. Not sure how likely your posture could contribute to what I was feeling but I notice that if I am sitting at my kitchen table or whatever, I vape fine. I'll see if the posture on the couch has anything to do with it.

But so far, it's been okay. I'll stay away from that one particular juice for a while and revisit it later, if the same thing happens when I revisit then I'll have found my culprit. If it comes back before then, then I'll have to look into other possibilities. But knock on wood, it's gone away, and in good time, too. I got my Provari today.

Well I musth ave jinxed myself as when I got home I got about 30 mins of vaping in until the same feeling returned. I'm really boggled as to why this is happening as I can go one night without issue and the next it feels like I'm smoking the strongest cigarette known to man? It's a weird sensation, but when I inhale it's like smoking a REALLY strong cigarette, then after that comes a bit of a tight chest. It completely goes away when I stop vaping. I'll also get a small wheeze from it as well, again, all goes away when I stop vaping.

This is my first time vaping 100% pure VG juice so I am wondering if it's that. Either way, my Provari is just sitting here looking pretty while I sit and try and figure this situation out.
