Outrageous and stupid anti-vaping research

I found this WebMD news report today, of a research study done by higher education professionals (Univ of Cailfornia, San Francisco). I also believe the research spokesperson is completely ignorant about e-cigs and/or is lying.
"We are seeing the use of e-cigarettes among adolescents rapidly increasing, and it doesn't seem like they're using these products to successfully quit smoking," said Dutra, a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for tobacco Research and Education at the University of California, San Francisco.

The study raises the question of whether e-cigarettes are a "gateway drug," and Dutra said she believes they are. "But that's more my opinion," she said. "The study doesn't show a causal relationship. I can't say e-cigarette use causes kids to smoke based on this finding. We need some more longitudinal data on this. But it does look like these devices are contributing to it."

Although they're often touted as a healthier alternative to smoking real cigarettes, Dutra said there's no research confirming e-cigarettes actually help people wean themselves off real cigarettes or curtail cigarette use. She is also concerned about the way electronic cigarette makers are marketing their products to young people.

"They come in flavors like bubblegum and advertisements that include images of bikinis," Dutra said. "In terms of basic numbers, e-cigarette use among adolescents is disconcerting. Most of these devices do have tobacco in them and we should be concerned and try to limit access to these products."

Are they serious? These are obviously bogus results and observations! Anti-smoking/anti-vaping spin! Complete lies! "Most of these devices do have tobacco in them"? Excuse me?! These "educated" researchers are obviously ignorant. The whole point of e-cigs is that there is NO tobacco in them!

This is what we vapers are up against.

"Dutra said there's no research confirming e-cigarettes actually help people wean themselves off real cigarettes or curtail cigarette use." I guess there's no research but there is plenty of evidence regarding that. Maybe researchers don't know or care where to look? There's plenty of evidence on this forum.

Lots of people try ecigs and quit ecigs, lots of people just don't like ecigs while preferring the real thing. Your ECF evidence does not apply to all who have tried ecigs.

I was wondering where anyone said that anything applied to all users here(?)

Plenty of evidence is perfectly valid.

The real question should be who ordered this study.
It is true that kids start vaping because its cool, but kids are stupid, if they didn't vape they would have started smoking (like most of us did) and we all know what's worst.

Glantz has received funds from the FDA and the NIH.

He has been the recipient of massive amounts of money from Nicoderm maker Johnson & Johnson Company's partner RWJF. ;)

What's your point here. My point is that e-cigs have helped many quit and many that had no intention of quitting. There was never any mention of all who have tried ecigs.

Your post makes me believe that you're one of those ANTZ trolls I've read about.

There was a similar outcome from a swedish "scientist" in the local newspaper that said nothing good comes of e-ciggs.
On the question

"Do you see anything good at all with using e-cigg?"
"Simple answer: No"

Like realy?
Also i doubt that it's an gateway drug for teens, because tobacco taste horrible. let's be real it aint that good.
Vaping is way tastier, and healthier.
However with that said, i don't advocate teens to start vaping just because.

However teens are like that, they always wants to try adult things.
Alcohol - check
Smoking - check
vaping - check
Drugs - in some way check

There's no real way controll that except the parents.

If they are banning e-ciggs, people will continue to smoke, continue to die.
As for the teens, they're going to try smokes anyway. They're like that and we were like that aswell.

So all the "this is a gateway" is total bull..... Atleast in my opinion.
