Got mine today... Seems to work great and has a bunch of cool features. Not sure I understand the significance of changing watts. If I have a tank that vapes best at 3.6 volts, what will adjusting the wattage do besides readjusting volts to some higher, undesirable setting, resulting in non-optimal voltage for my tank. If I adjust watts to it's highest setting on the evic, and then readjust my volts to my preferred 3.6, how will this effect the quality of the vape? The evic seems to me to produce the same amount of vaper whether I have it set at 5.6 watts or 15 watts, with the same voltage (3.6) Doesn't Watts = 2v/ohms?

Pretty new at this so any info would be appreciated.

think of Watts as HEAT, based on voltage and resistance. If you like the heat produced by a lets say 2.2ohm atty at 3.6v then what ever that amounts to in wattage is what you set the evic to. Then when you change atty's to one with a different ohm then it will still produce the same amount of heat....in theory. this is the whole concept behind VW.

Definitely having a vw device would be cool.. You can however, when replacing toppers, set the wattage manually to your favorite seting. Not the same as automatically adjusting, but it's not too inconvenient.

Also if you set the volatge and it goes into sleep mode, it'll remain at that voltage when you take it out of sleep mode. If you set watts to a desired setting and it goes into sleep mode, you will have to reset the watts after taking it out of sleep mode.

Watched the Vapelink show tonight and Field had an evic. His seemed to suffer from amp limitation but its possible there is already an updated firmware upgrade.

I'm REALLY pulling for Joyetech on this one so hopefully in the next week or so we will start getting a final verdict on the tech side of this device and it will be a positive one.

Did anyone else notice that he didn't touch the leads together to check the resistance of the leads? Even if the meter is auto zeroing, he should have touched them together to show that it was at zero.

If he didn't measure the ohms correctly, then the rest of the video is incorrect!

Why didn't he use any other atty (like a 2.4 ohm) to see if the eVic would produce 5 volts.

I think the whole video is based on incorrect information. Of course it won't produce 5 volts if the resistance is too low. It would limit the voltage once 3 amps is reached. (1.6 ohm @ 3 amp = 4.8 volts) and I would accept + or - 0.1 on any digital reading.

this device is way different than the provari. not knocking the provari, it's a solid device...

The eVic is to the Provari what a Köenigsegg CCX is to a Porsche 911.

They are both good for what they are, but the eVic (and the CCX) are a completely different strata in terms of pure technological implementation.

The eVic may not be built as well as the Provari, or as rugged, or as easy-to-use out of the box, but it offers levels of control--on a sub-second level--of the power output that the Provari is simply not capable of. We're talking custom vape-curves that change by the micro-second on a single vape--real time, automatic and totally customizable via a sophisticated GUI on a computer.

Soon we will have Bluetooth-enabled APVs and we can adjust the vape-curves REAL TIME, on the fly, without having to tether to a computer and download new profiles. We will soon see software that interfaces with biofeedback monitors so we can actually custom-adjust our vape to match (or change) our physical response.

This IS the future of high-end vaping, and the eVic is just the next step in a technology that is still really in it's infant stages. Vaping today is where the light bulb was in 1890--we have a LONG way to go before we even get close to the technological edge...

There's new firmware that should be released in a week. I'm probably going to delay my review until the new firmware is out.

I hope that will fix my problem i'm having with it for the last three days:

For some reason the battery indicator stays fixed on 69%, no matter whether there's a full or almost empty battery in it.
Have tried changing settings and setting them back, removing the battery and leave it for a day, upgrading the firmware with V1.0 (just to overwrite everything). But all without effect. :(

It still works. But this way i might kill all of my batteries because there is no working active protection and now also no working battery indicator.

Yikes! Odd that it would maintain the same battery voltage indication, even after removing the battery in an attempt to reset it (which I'm sure you have done). Hopefully it is indeed a software bug.

Is there a place Ovale/Joyetech has that allows you to report bugs? Seems like that would be a good idea with a device like this.

Yeah, removed the battery. Several times. And left it out for 1 day.

Joyetech has a support email address. I mailed the vendor today first. See what he says.
