I just ordered the v8's big brother the Gripper from DV. It operates on one 18650 battery and looks very somilar to the v8. I hope it works as good. It is twice as expensive though but does have an ohm meter too. I just bought 6 18650 Panny batteries in a coop so I needed somethin besides my LT to use them with. The excuses I come up with to justify buying another PV are pathetic. lol
:tumble:

I want one soooo bad, but I am getting a new phone this month, and I am getting the best of the best (Samsung Galaxy S3) so I dont know if I can afford both this month but I am sure gonna try!!! Goodnight all, sweet dreams and God Bless!

Hi guys, got an Ovale V8 last week and I sent it back to the vendor today so that they can have a look at it. The batteries are draining so fast even vaping it at 3 volts.
Hoping to get it back real soon or have them replace it.

Hey Penguin, welcome :)!!! Glad that you are getting your problem attended to. Did you have the batteries from the kit, or did you buy them seperately?

Thanks dragonbone! :) I got the battery with the kit and I bought another pair of batteries. It was doing the same thing. I told the vendor earlier to check the Ovale V8, batteries and the charger itself. Hoping that I would get a feedback from them real soon.

Start reading around post 238. If it doesn't like your batteries, it will do that, especially if they are a mm or so too long. So far the only batteries it definitely likes are the ones that come with the kits and the AW IMR 18350.

For the springs, try depressing them with a credit card when you slide the battery in. When you pull the card out, the spring is already in position.

Those are the batteries I use.

I think the red AW batteries are the ones it doesn't like. Although lately the blue ones seem "loose"; is there a way to tighten it up so they aren't as flopsy?

I use mostly tanks. I've noticed that dual coil tanks seem to make the batteries last only a few hours. Same with the Vivi Nova 2.5 tank with the 1.8 head.

My Ego C Twist also has "Ovale™" engraved on the chrome neck part, but they're not associated in any way with the Ovale V8 from what I've read.

Perhaps the Ovale V8 folks ripped off the name from JoyTech. In which case I am sure, knowing Joytech, that they will go after them if they are an American company. If they are a Chinese company too, then I don't know how they would go after them.

hmm I just discovered something weird with my ovale...

It doesn't seem to be able to fire with anything but my Vivi novas.

I tried a DCT, a 5ml clearomizer, a CE4 v3, and a CE4 v2 and nothing happens when I push the fire button (it works just fine with both my vivi Nova tanks though)

Sometimes when that happens, I will take a battery out and put it back in, then it is fine. Have you tried tightening the 510 to 510 connecter tighter? That helps too, sometimes.

Because of the open 510 connection on the V8, I've always been paranoid about dripping juice into the box; I don't attach anything to it without a sealed adapter.
I HIGHLY recommend Twisted Texas' gooseneck. It's just fun to tinker with. :) MadVapes has a nice, cheap shorty 510 extension and the 47mm extension they sell for the Gripper as well.

I put brush-on electrical tape over the "open connection". I also took the screws out and put brush-on electrical tape all over everything. Wow those wires are thin. Props to Eric on that suggestion.

Dragonbone: Yeah it wouldn't fire with anything but the Vivi Nova (and that doesn't even work anymore)

The Ovale connector is completely ruined allready. I can't even get my vivi nova off it again...

When I try to unscrew the Vivi Nova, the Ovale connector is just turning around with it, making it impossible to get the Vivi Nova off it again (I would have to take the Ovale apart, to be able to do anything)

It doesn't fire the Vivi at all anymore either...

The Ovale was nice for the few hours it actually worked, but holy crap its easy to break. (It has the worst connector I ever had the displeasure of using)

If the connector is turning around and around, you do have to open it up. The wire to the connector is loose or completely off. Just solder it back together. Then after you check it to make sure it works, add some epoxy to make sure it is held tight.

Ovale (our V6 and V8's) is a product name and is made by a different company to Ovale eLips. They all come from China :).

I just spent a couple of hours looking at that yesterday. I want.

It's not made by the same company. The V8 is made by Shenzhen Sigelei Technology Co., Ltd. (It is also not made by Ovale, a Greek e-cig company.) The "18650 VV Gripper" is made by SmokTech, one of the best know manufacturers.

Mad Vapes carries it and Vapor Kings has it on order. Here's a video from Vapor Kings -- it clearly doesn't have the battery compartment issues. I didn't realize Eric has it too. Time to start saving those pennies.

If your batteries have to be jammed in, that's your problem. I'm doing well with AW IMR 18350s which are a little shorter than others.
