Hi there dragonbone. All"s good. Thanks.

Haven't tried a stardust before. Quite unsure if I should get one or not. I had those tanks before whose wicks are long that go all the way down to the bottom, and it didn't really work out for me. Had to throw it out and get a low res 901. You can say that it was a bad experience for me.

I think it has even better vapor production then other devices which i'm using. I don't have stardust, but i tested it on some attys and on smoktech DCT cartos. Great little device and it looks much better in live than in the pictures.
Dragonbone, big thanks for welcome ;)

Happy to have you here. Yes they are such awesome devices. By the way, I think you are the first one here with a blue Ovale. Please post a big pic for us sometime!

Hey Penguin :). Umm... Not sure what to say. If you don't like the taste of clearomizers, then you probably won't like the taste of Stardust. Not sure though, just a guess. If you can try one at a cheap price, or throw one in your cart with your next vape order... Then I would say try it. But if it's expensive where you are, then no rush, since newer (and maybe better) versions are coming out so fast!

P.S. my brother received his parcel in Haiti with FedEx a few days ago. I had to give him my white one, since the black was stolen in the previous mail. Anyway he LOVES it and vaping away day and night like a steam engine :D.

My experiment with Ultrafire X3L 1200mAh batteries. I bought two from Ebay. They came in a cute little plastic battery case. I put them on the Xtar charger.

One battery port lit up as green, already charged. A bad sign. I switched it to the other battery charging port, and it still lit up green. The other lit up red, and I left both batteries on the charger until both ports showed green, fully charged.

I tried the batteries in the Ovale V8. They didn't work. Nothing happened at all. I tried them in my other Ovale V8. Nothing.

Either the Ultrafire 18350 batteries won't work with the Ovale, or my batteries were DOA.

It's true that newer versions are coming out so fast. It's getting harder to choose what product to try out next.

With the tank I'm using right now I was really apprehensive at first, since I had a bad experience with tanks (ie. vision clearomizer and ego tank type-b). But when I used it, I was in awe that it worked out very well. It was a DCT so I guess that was the reason why I liked it.

Hey, that's great! Bet we all had our fingers crossed while the package was in transit

Sorry to hear that.... Maybe just one battery's dead and the other one's good. However, its scary to pair another battery with a different kind of battery. You do have a multi meter, right?

Nope - just the kind that screws into the carto hole. And I would not mix batteries -- these are 1200mAh, the others I have are 700 and 900.

I just found that LiteCigUSA has the kind of batteries that come with the kit, and I ordered some. I find that these last longer than the AW IMR and I get less of the wonky errors using these. 18350 900mah Li-Ion Battery

Of course, they are not protected, so I may schlep out the battery charger bag.

Hey All,

Just wanted to say that last night I ordered one of these guys from Discountvapors and am eagerly waiting it's arrival! I started on an 808 pen style, which I gave to my wife and upgraded to a KGO which I've loved. Well, the other day my wife told me that her batteries were starting to go, and I told her if she wanted another pen style I would buy her a joyce 501 so we could buy lots of carto's at one time.

In buying her the joyce I got the itch to upgrade, so I went with this. I got the kit, and then later ordered some more carto's and batteries from RTD.

One question though... any other lefties out there using this? I didn't really take that into consideration during the impulse buy!

Lefty here. Started with an 808 also. Still have some atomizers left. Pick up an adapter for $2. 808s are great dripping attys -- don't waste them.

I have some issues with the V8 connected with the batteries, battery compartment and, on my first V8, the fact that I have to wiggle the atomizer between puffs to make the connection. I have no issues with it regarding my right-brainedness. It's a very lightweight, comfortable mod to hold. There are actually only 3 indentations for fingers -- you don't line your hand up and hold it like it's a grenade. You close your hand around it. Being a lefty is not an issue.

Hey Poela, thanks for the info, but we're all out of 808 carto's here, which was one thing that made me think of getting her a 501 pen style, so I didn't have to go to two sites to get us each carto's. As far as dripping, she's never tried it, she keeps it as simple as possible (never tried one of my KGO batts, said they were too big)

It's probably the best idea to throw the batts out though, they're about 8 months old...

Li-ion batteries should be recycled. Home Depot recycles them.

I'm also using the same blue batteries. It came with the kit and it works pretty well on the V8. I don't think the V8 likes Ultrafire batteries. It doesn't last me that long. It show the Lo sign faster the the blue ones. It would be better I guess to use the IMRs and the blue batteries.

I just bought a multi meter the other day and that's what I use to see if the batteries are still okay.

Stand your Ultrafires up next to the blue ones that came with the kit. If the Ultrafires are taller (all it takes is an mm or two) they won't work. Long term, they can damage the V8.

Hey Sandybeach, I just got on the waiting list for these little boxes and I thought of you and your problem with you hands. This mod will be perfect for me but it's pretty simple. Have you seen the varicool? I can't remember weather I saw you mention it earlier or not. No frills, very small frame but VV. with 2x14500? There around $55 and no problems with battery sizes. It also has a simple, on/off switch for safety and the voltage control is inside the battery compartment. It's kind of simple (ugly) but that's just a challenge to lend you artistic talent to customize it. Nothing is truly ugly it just that some things more room from improvement than others. They're hand made in the USA and that's good. Here's a review: SmokTek "SmokBox VariCool" - Custom Variable Volt Box Mod - Efficient switching regulator! adjustable 3,4,5,6.5 volt's & everything between.
