I noticed that sometimes when I fill my Cardos, a little liquid comes out the bottom when I blow it through, too much I guess. I was reading that overfilling cardos is bad for the health of the cardo. What is the reasoning for this? I am semi-new to vaping, but would like an explanation as to what the reasoning behind this is? Also, is it bad to under-fill cardos? I try to put about 20 drops into a cardo, as stated in the Halo manual that I received, but I want to gain as much knowledge about cardo health so as to elongate the life of the cardos that I am using.

The best way to fill a cartomizer is to put the correct amount of eliquid into it. :) Regular size cartomizers take 1 ml of ejuice--20-30 drops, depending on the size of your drops. I fill by dripping straight into the filler (down the wall of the carto), slowly, until the correct amount has been absorbed. Then I add a few drops more.

Overfilling is not the end of the world--just blow the excess out and make sure there's no juice in the air tube.

Underfilling is a big no-no. If you underfill your carto, the filler will burn and the carto will become useless.

Good luck!

You could use a syringe - fill that with the amount of e-liquid that is recommended for your size cartomizer.
That is a sure way for you to know how much e-liquid.

---
I just wrap a square of toilet paper around the bottom(threaded end) and place an individual drop down the wall,
let that absorb, spin, do a 2nd, let absorb, spin, do a 3rd(3 points of a triangle) - then flick it like it was an old-time
thermometer. ( I don't know, I could be getting old or it's all the many types a handwork I've done in my lifetime but
I'm thinking if I'm flicking these cartomizers for the next 20 years - I will eventually end up with carpel tunnel.)

My first carto fill, I was peeking under the toilet paper right from the start, checking to see if the liquid was coming out
the drilled hole in the wall of the cartomizer and showing on the toilet paper yet -LOL-
each cartomizer to follow I dripped drops and flicked a little more often before I peeked. :p And I'm only at about
7 cartomizers used so far (early days/carto newbie). LOVE them & all 7 have been worked perfect. First ones were
Smoks but now using ikenvapes nitros(I'm done searching - the nitros will be the ones I use from here on out.)

My current nitro won't die and I'm chomping at the bit to try one of my new flavors.

I read a lot here & watched a couple instruction videos - not just on how to use them but on what the heck to even
purchase to start out with, crossed my fingers and clicked "buy". I must have comprehended fellow ecf members as
all my purchases have been successful. Phew!

I gave syringes a try for filling a carto but didn't care for that process - maybe because the needles are blunt
tipped and I can't insert it between the wall and filler - so to me there was no difference between syringe &
e-liquid bottle. Then I felt that wasn't worth the hassle of taking apart the syringe and washing it & letting it dry
completely since it didn't change/improve the priming process for me.

I don't regret the syringe purchase($2) - they are used all the time to get the last bit of liquid out of my bottles and
to remove the liquid from my tanks when I replace cartomizers or change flavors.

I saw the "condom" filling method, looks easy, but ya, I also heard that juice should not be put into the center area of the cartos, doesn't this method do just that, but to a much more extreme extent? looks a little more wasteful of liquid as well. been using the droppers from the bottles and work well, but it was my first method and have not experimented with other methods

You're correct & I agree about the waste(I find it messy too). Don't they have to blow it out when the condom method
is used? It's still a usable cartomizer once you get the juice out of center coil tube. Better to put too much than too
little & burn it, as that does mean the carto has to go in garbage. I don't like to get liquid anywhere it's not meant to be-
but I always emm to anyway.

Down side of vaping is the increased amount of toilet paper & paper towels I now use :)

I only use the flick method & only once got the liquid in center a bit where I needed to blow it clear, from the bottom-
didn't care for that at all & I avoid it at all cost. Ha
