So I quit analogs dec 26, 2011. I didn't smoke anything for a month and I missed smoking but didn't want to go back so I bought a disposable e-cig and have been with them every since. I bought the cig2o kit and a few other batteries and have been doing the disposable cartridges. My problems with this are the batteries don't stay charged long and I can go through 2 or 3 cartridges in a day. So I have searched on here for a better way but frankly my head is spinning! 1.Is there a system that you can fill in the morning, put in a battery and go all day with?? Or maybe just change out stuff once a day? I don't care what it looks like- just interested in better function! I guess something that could be mobile is good as well. 2.I have only done tobacco flavor at this point but would like to do some flavors. so on this system i am striving for can i get different tanks ( i think is what i want?) in different sizes that i could switch back and forth it i want to do a flavor? I would appreciate ANY feedback but please follow the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method for me like i said reading through all these posts is confusing and makes my head spin!!!

Welcome. There are lot of different options. Some questions are going to be asked of you in efforts to help; how much of a smoker are you or were you a pack a day perhaps? Details, details details...... being new to this myself and having gone through this I was asked this. And I still don't know if I am in that totally sweet spot but I don't mind where I am at. I started with a Tank system namely the EGO T. found some things with it I didn't care for but it got me started and experiementing to where I am now.

I'm sure someone has or is about to chime in now. Stick around here and take what you need and leave the rest. How thats for simple?

:)

Hi Iimup. Welcome to the ECF. Well yes is the short answer, BUT... first you need to adress what you have now and what you expect your new equipment to do for you. The quick and dirty option would be to pick up a Variable Votage box mod and some Boge2.0 ohm cartomizers with a wide selection of eliquid and have at it.... In most opinions this would quickly help you define what the next incarnation of vaping should be for you. If thats a bit too far to jump from whare you are now the standard is the larger battery 510 options like the eGo/kGo/Riva. Which for their size are proven performers and a reliable option for all day use.
Your standard cig sized model ecig is likely 180-280mAh sized. Take this into account when you look at your next upgrade, most units are 650mAh and larger.... ask away thats why we are all here. By the way I Love your Screenname.:2c:

thanks dshark! I have been trying to do that but it all seems complicated, not like buying a pack of marlboros and lighting one- you know how many you have and how long they will last! By the way i smoked a pack a day of marb 100"s

Thanks Iusedtoanalog, I like your screen name too! I have the cig2o system, looks like a cigarette- batteried only last a few hours and i go through 2-3 cartridges of 24mg a day. I want to do something easier as in not changing cartridges and batteries all day! you lost me with the mAh stuff!! I am not mechanically inclined and dont get what the technical stuff means and what peices go together etc!! I'm an RN give me gaping wounds, IV solutions, etc and i'm your gal but this stuff makes me feel like i need a vaping for dummies book LOL! There isn't one of those is there? LOL!

Welcome & congrats!

I also started with the smallish battery option but moved up to a Riva with a Riva T Tank, it's a little larger, but life between charges is good and both are relatively inexpensive, hope these links help;

Riva 510 kit 29.99 & low shipping; Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Riva T Tank; RIVA-T TANK - $4.99 : Cropduster901!, Home of the B-52

Good Prophets is now carrying them as a complete unit, or as individual pieces;
GP CE2 Regular Humongomizer Set-up for eGo 2.0ml

This is also a helpful resource; Guide To Vaping

No I was explaining what YOU have now versus what you want to shop for. Battery capacity is measured in mAh... Basically the rule of thumb is 100mAh=1hr of moderate vaping. So the math is pretty self explanitory once you have all the basics out of the way. Dont be intimidated, i wouldnt give anyone an IV...LOL.

Ok this makes sense to me now "100mAh=1hr of moderate vaping" thanks for putting it in plain english! how do you figure out what peices go together as far as the piece that holds juice and the piece that makes vapor?? If i get that figured out i may be in business! LOL!!
One more thing what is the ohm resistance about??

Thanks Deblym! I quit for 5yrs last time and was dumb enough to take that one drag but not this time!

Lol, I hear ya, I quit for 8 years.....and one cigarette was enough. Now I've found this, and it really seems to work, have half a pack of squished cigs on my counter cause they been sitting in my purse un-smoked for days now lol.
I use a kr808 but I'm fairly sensitive to not drawing attention to myself. I'm pretty happy atm, you will definitely be able to find something that fits the bill for you.

Hey Imup, I am only vaping a few months and I already went thru a few kits before I came upon this new ego-w kit from TheVaporGirl.com. Its a fat batt @650 mah with a tank to put juice in and it has a pen top that clips on your pocket. I ordered one on the recommendation of 3 others that have it and its the best kit I have gotten. Good throat hit, lots of vapor, easy to fill, and I haven't had to charge the battery yet. I started using it at 1pm and its now 2:30 am and its still going strong. Here's the link if you want to check it out.http://www.thevaporgirl.com/product_p/egow.htm

I just received 3 Riva Mega Dual Coil kits from Sweet-Vapes.com and I am very impressed. I got these to loan out to friends. They are quite tiny for being 750mAh, the switch is nice and the mega dccs are great. They also have really good juice with alot of options in terms of PG/VG, flavor amount and nic strength. I highly recommend these kits (I bought the last three actually and they are out of stock right now :laugh:) But they do have severeal other Riva kits. I got these to loan because they are the simplest for someone who's inexperienced and the size isn't crazy for someone who's used to an analog.

If you can wait until they come back in stock or piece a kit together, definitely a good choice.

Personally, I use a variable voltage DIY box mod from MadVapes at 4.2-4.4v with 3.2ohm cartomizers for my daily device. It's only $18, but far far more if you have none of the other materials such as soldering iron, batteries/charger, etc. Also...you have to have the ability to solder! :p

- you could get an ego/riva kit
- if you want slim size get a 510-t kit, get a pcc and a 2 extra batteries, so pyoup alpways have 2 charged, 1 i use, 1 charging i the pcc

I started with a 510-t kit and then directly bought a pcc etc. Now i have ego-t & ego-c XL usb batteries, which last me about a day, combine that with smok ego mega dual coil cartos ... You fill & charge 1 time a day if wanted

I do add a few drops now and then to keep the carto wet :)

Normal atomiser for dripping method. 2-3drops and u get 7-10 good direct vapes.

Single coil carto are the ones with the poly-fill that holds the liquid u drip. Normally 15-20 drops. The coil is one n is located at the base of carto.

Double coil carto are also the same like single coild except they have 2 coils. Most vapor n likely more warmer.. Good for standard 3.7batt mods.

my 2 cents:

I am new to vaping. I have only gotten a few puffs off of one BUT I have been studying for hours a day for over a month now and I am finally going to make my move. After a lot of looking around I decided that KGO is the best ecig for beginners. It has the best batteries for the lowest price. I was looking at Hoosierecigsupply's KGO system which came with cartridges that were prefilled with crappy ejuice of low to high nicotine strength and I knew that I'd be throwing those out or maybe holding on to them for when I am out of juice and all hope is gone.... My apocalypse nicotine :) So I went to get it from hoosier today and by the gods they were sold out of all colors but pink! I called him up and he was ok to talk to but he didn't seem confident of when he'd get more, 3-4 days and then another 3-4 days to ship... nah I need vapor now.

I did some looking around and I found Dark City Vapors. Even after all that research that I did I STILL had some questions. I looked down at the bottom of their screen and there was a chat instantly button! I ended up talking to Bill the owner (for over an hour) and the guy was a saint! He answered any and all questions and even tossed back a few comments that were completely unrelated to the order. He wasn't there to take my money he was there because he was a nice guy and he enjoyed chilling with vapers. I had to go for a while and came back at 3-4am and there he was and he answered even MORE of my questions. This dude's commitment level is astounding!

Anyway, I ordered my KGO from him which was the same price as Hoosier but there is a big difference. DCV has a SLB KGO kit that comes with cartomizers instead of atomizers and cartridges you'll never use. The standard kit comes with 5 SLB Standard Resistance XL cartomizers for free and for 4 bucks more you can add a 5 pack of Boge or Smoktech cartomizers for a total of 10 cartos to start. Everything else is the same - the charger, the big bore cones, the 2 x 1100mah batteries. If you order a 5 pack of extra cartomizers from him they come with 5ml of free juice too which is win. It's a great way to try different flavors for free while you get a great deal for the stuff you need. Bill is the man. If you order from anywhere else you are getting ripped off and you might make a mistake. All orders over $65 get free shipping too, so throw in a few extra cartos, get some juice (which costs half the price of all the main sites) and save the shipping with your KGO. Also use coupon code: ECFDCV for 5% off your order. The only negative thing I can say about the experience is that his site is not the most descriptive thing in the world and you should ask if you don't know what's what before you go spending money on something you don't fully understand. Hope that helps. Sorry for the length I got excited.
