Hi I too was a bit overwelmed for a while too but everyone around the forums seems to be super helpful..
I'm gonna touch on your request for juice suggestions..
While VG is not my preference, I can say that dawn over at Diyflavorshack has quite a few VG flavors, and since she hand mixes everything you can send her a message and she can help you out as far as selections go and how to best get what you're looking for, and she has the stuff so that if it interests you you can mix your own..she also has coupon codes for ecf members..
Now my personal preference is for the juice that Drew carries over at NHaler, his flavors are awesome either the 24mg strength or the 12mg strength high voltage, and his lung juice is awesome too (has several herbal extracts in it that promote healing of the lungs, like a natural expectorant that is nice when your lungs start to heal and shed all that tar and other crap)...granted it is PG based juice..but his sampler bottles are cheap $4 and $5 for the lung juice for 6ml bottles..and he also has a coupon code for %10 off however.. it sounds like your husband and yourself would almost be starting at 2 different nicotine levels to keep him satisfied while not being too much for you either...so you could always get 24mg strength juice (for him get some menthol crystals to add to the juice) (and for yourself cut it 50/50 with VG to get 12mg strength)

If you don't mind me asking though why are you leaning toward VG? just sort of curious if it's because you already know that you have a sensitivity to PG...the reason I ask is because like you said it's overwelming but from what I've read on here the PG has been tested alot more actually and personally I trust it more than the VG myself..
If you want more information on what I based that on please by all means feel free to send me a private message at any time as well..

Jennifer,
Don't get too hung up on duplicating your analog experience with e-cigs. They are a different animal. My first kit was an NJOY white. It didn't work out for me and I moved to 510s. The batt life is pretty short so I'm awaiting a Chuck. By the time I'm done, I'll be vaping an e-cig that looks nothing like an analog. That's ok though, because the experience and the benefits outweight the difference.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I've decided to take the plunge and go the Joye510 route via Cignot. And since they offer a choice in batteries, I'm gonna go for one of each, auto & man, so that I can try them both out!

As for liquid vendors and mixing suggestions, etc ... keep 'em coming ... I'm still slightly overwhelmed.
If you're going with Cignot, I highly recommend the English Toffee ECOpure (which is a type of VG base). Even if you're mostly trying tobacco flavors at first, the Toffee seems to be a hit with a lot of people.
I like their VG Cappuccino a lot, too.

Other straight-VG vendors that I have either tried and liked or seen many good reviews of:
DIYFlavorShack
Vermont Vapor
JuicyVapor
TastyVapor
JuicyLiquid
I'm sure I'm forgetting some, though. Oh, and others offer reduced PG options (like Johnsons Creek).
Many of these have samplers or sample sizes available, too. To learn more about any of these vendors, just search for them with the Google bar at the bottom, or look in the E-Liquid Reviews section.

Just a tip I learned:
It can be hard to find a tobacco that really mimics whatever brand you're used to, but that's what a lot of people start by seeking. You kinda have to be flexible and try a lot of flavors, and not necessarily the name that matches your previous brand.
Disappointment does happen because everybody's tastes vary so much (and that's when the Classifieds section here lets you unload juice you don't really like to make a bit of the money back ;)).

Hope this helps!

Hi I am pretty new too.But from my last couple of months of using these things I have found that needing a cig sized ecig is of o concern after a week or two.Get something that will be more hassle free.My greensmoke kit was really nice, got me started. But my protege is awesome. The one problem I see with ecigs is buying them, and buying them, and then getting a better one. I wish I had found this forum b4 I spent a bunch of money on stuff that sits in a drawer now.

Jennifer, I am new also and I wanted a PV that would be relatively maintenance free throughout the day. I have a job that when I get a "smoke" break I do not have time to fool with liquids and dripping. I bought a Vapor King 2 piece PV. I refill my carts. (very easy if you watch the tutorial) I have tried many flavors as I originally thought I would want a standard Marlbro flavor I have found that vanilla carmel, watermelon, clove, and pear are my favorite. I will give you a list of positives and negatives I have found with my VK.
Positive
1. Easy Use
2. Became natural feeling after one day.
3. Very clean and transportable
4. About the length of a 100 cig.
5. Auto batts last 1 day (for my useage level)
6. Customer service from V4L
7. Can get adapters to use 501/801/901/or greencig carts and attys if I decide to try them.
Disadvantages
1. Initial vapor production is low (takes 15 to 20 puffs to get vapor output)
2. can replace cart batting
as you can see overall I am very happy with my choice. I have not had a cigarette since 11-12-2009 the day my VK came in the mail. I feel much better and have much more energy than I used to. Welcome to the board and good luck with the decision you make.

I have not bought any new PVs yet but I know what you mean I read these forums and I'm like I gotta try one of those.

I thought I was doomed to smoke til I dropped. My type of work allows me to smoke all day non stop.If I worked late I could tear into a 3rd pack no problem. With these things,it was nothing at all to quit.I'm pretty sure all my smoker buddies think I sneak one in every once and a while, but I found a analog in my couch the other day,no one around, wife gone for the day,and I tossed it(after I broke it to pc's to make sure I wouldn't go garbage diving later on) so I know I'm good to go now.

You've got a lot of good responses here and I don't have anything new to add, but I think there is one point important enough that it needs repeating over and over.

I was determined when I first started vaping that I wanted something the size of a real cigarette and an automatic battery that would simulate a cigarette in that once it is lit you don't mess with it.

I was absolutely not happy with the experience until I dropped those notions and picked up a mod with a 3.7v 900mAh battery and a manual switch. Battery life on any cigarette sized device made them unusable for me and I was always fighting with automatic switches. They would activate on a light draw sometimes and require me to suck a golf ball through the atty on the next draw. I'm sure you could get away with less mAh ... maybe something at 500 or greater.

Good luck!

I was leaning towards the VG because it's more natural-based from what I had gathered ... But due to the overwhelming feeling in my gut about everything all together, I tossed the VG vs PG issue out the window. I ordered VG w/ my kit from Cignot.com (which btw, amazingly helpful ladies!) and didn't bother to care if it was PG or VG when I got a sampler pack from BestECiggy.com. But, I am interested in your basis ... so please PM me!

Yes, you have certainly helped! I did order a wide variety of juices in a sampler pack from BestECiggy.com to start with. And now I know about the Classified section too, in addition to a ton of links I just bookmarked to check out! THANKS!

To everyone ... Thank you so much for your feedback! It really has helped me a LOT!! (I'm the kind of person who can get overwhelmed very easily, and on top of that I'm already an "emotionally sensitive" person.) I placed my orders about an hour ago & now I'm not sure if I can wait till they get here because I'm so excited!!

For anyone who might be interested, here is what I ordered & from whom:

Cignot.com: (Btw, these ladies are very helpful. I emailed them asking if I could contact them by phone w/ some questions, and instead they called me. Answered all of my questions and made me 100% secure ordering from them! I am self-employed w/ an Avon business so I'm really big on Customer Service. If I was rating them on a scale of 1 to 10, they'd receive an 11!)

- Joye 510 NoBox with USB Passthru - Special (1 auto & 1 man battery so I can decide which I like best ... VG Marlboro 5ml 0mg Nicotine ... VG Marlboro (USA MIX) 5ml 26mg Nicotine)
- Joye 510 Battery for USB Passthru
- AC to USB Adapter 1000mA

MyPVShop.com: (Coupon Code IVape10 works to get 10% off!)
- Joye510 Cartridge Cores - Black Round x 2
- Joye510 AC Charger
- Joye510 USB Line Charger
- Joye510 Charging/Carrying Case
- AC Charger Car Adaptor

BestECiggy.com:
- Smoke Juice Sample Pack (Nicotine Level MED <18mg> Cotton Candy, Luscious Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Wonderful WaterMelon!, Banana, Cinnamon, Sweet Orange, Menthol, Marly <Tobacco Flavor>)
- $5 Flat-Rate Shipping, but when I compared the pricing of their 10 x 3ml pack plus shipping, it still came out less per ml than other sites I looked at.

My order was primarily based on my own wants/needs/etc. However, being that my Ex-Husband is interested in experiencing an eCig, one or two of the flavors I got were more for him. I'm already excited to introduce him to the world of eCigs the next time I see him (he lives 3 hours away) ... I haven't even tried it yet myself!

Thank you again for all of your helpful tips! I plan on "blogging" my experience from beginning to end on my Facebook ... Maybe it'll spawn my Friends into trying them too! (Btw, if anyone wants to link up on FB to see my Notes/Blogs, send me a PM!)

Ps. For anyone who might be interested in what all of this totaled up to ... my total investment was $136.43. From what I have been told by several people, this is still cheaper than what I would have paid w/ tax at a Mall Kiosk! (I plan on verifying in a few hours when I go to the mall.)
