Are any of you new people horribly overwhelmed at times? Here I am puffing away contentedly on my V4life automatic and USB passthrough. Yet I'm thinking..hmm, this is costing me more than cigarettes, I'm blasting through like 6 carts a day even with refills.

Maybe I should get a manual. Maybe I should try non-cartomizers. Well, the atomizers look expensive. Maybe a different carto. Turbos? And what flavor? What will have tons of vapor.

Ooh, maybe a new type. Volcano? Screwdriver?

Wait..hmm, what's this atomic cinnicide I keep hearing about? Ack, can't find it anywhere. Ahh, wait, what's this, I'm burning the stuff inside the cart? I wonder what it's made out of...

I browse these forums for answers and find only more questions, grasshopper. Hmm.

I was dreaming last night that I built this ridiculous, huge thing that looks nothing like an analogue, and that let me vape huge clouds of deliciousness that gave me a massive buzz.

Something must be wrong with me. Still haven't smoked though. :p

Hi Mad,

It's going to cost you a fortune if you dont start refilling your carts with juice yourself.
It is simple to do and I have used cartos for over a week before discarding them. it is very inexpensive to vape this way.

You will find that it tastes a lot better too..

I cant stand the prefilled cartos. They taste aweful to me..

Find some good flavors you like and refill those carts.. imo save, save, save $$$

I'm starting to refill now, but sometimes they taste weird anyway, and I can still blast through them fast. Maybe more nic.

yeah. cartomizers seem to me to always have an undertone of some taste I really cant put my finger on..

I usually use 510 attys. To me they bring out the full flavor of the juice that I can never seem to get in a carto.

You can always use an adapter on your rpesent cig and try a good Joye 510 atty and see what you are missing.. lol They are cheap adapters and the 510s attys are cheap..

Glad were not alone Madglee. I just want to scream " SOMEBODY STOP ME" I need to lock my cards up! Thinking I might have enough juice for the next year lmao... but wait is that another flavor....sounds yummy hehehe I was with some friends the other night, all of them vape too and even they were looking at me like I lost it when they heard about my stash of juice, attys, batteries, chargers ect....then they wanted to try my new manual and passthru, but you know who they came to when they ran out of juice and the local e-cig stand was out aswell.

I've only been vapeing a little over a month and have dropped some bucks on finding the right PV for ME! I have bought the 901, 510 and eGo. Hands down my favorite is the eGo, the 510 then the 901. In that order. I don't use my 901 any longer. I gave it to my daughter. For me, the lady I am, not, anyway, the eGo and 510 fit my hands better and they deliver a more consistant hit for ME. That's not to say the 901 isn't the perfect PV for someone else. My eGo is my workhorse and the 510 is also ready at all times for my "fun" vapes. Not sure this will help you but wanted to add my 2 cents :)

Just remember whatever device you choose it's a great step! Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Many of us where resistant to dealing with Juice at first. Please don't be, it opens up a whole other world and is far less expensive in the long run. For starters try to keep it simple. I think from recent experience it is best to leave all the cart mods alone until you have the basics down. Mods are a whole other ball of wax. read up on liquids and the variosu properties, that will help you pick what companys to start dealing with. Order as small of a quantity as possible, although many do not have sample size for sale. If you end up with juice that you dont want after trying it, head over to the

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward/85629-pay-forward-92.html#post1357992 thread, that is a great place to pick up new stuff and good fun too.

Yes, I am feeling overwhelmed at times, too...at times, totally overwhelmed.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm an adult, off cigarettes for almost 4 weeks now, so I don't feel like a child here on this forum...it can be intimidating when there's so much to learn.

I'm spending much more than I expected to, but do believe the more experienced people here that my spending will calm down...and, when all is said and done, do I really care how much it costs me, compared to the real cost of smoking tobacco? Nope.

I'm glad I'm not the only one overwhelmed at times...and, overwhelmed or not, we still haven't smoked...it's a wonderful thing.

You can certainly drop some coin when you get into this. At first I got my 808 and some good accessories. Those carts were awful but I saw the possibilities. Then I had to try refilling so I bought some small bottles of juice, some are good and some aren't. Then I had to try Nebula Turbo carts which are very good. Then the day after I ordered those I decided inhaling polyfill wasn't such a hot idea so I ordered some 901's and a pile of blank carts and drip tips so I can drip and try HighPings Simple Cart Mod. Oh, and Tasty Vapor had a massive sale on the juices I most wanted to try.

It's ~$400 bucks right there. If, however, the TV juices are good and I like the 901's then I can sell off some Turbo carts and a few juices I didn't like and be set for the next year at the rate I vape with 10 atty's, 50 blanks and 12½ oz juice plus a few ounces of doubler.

Toss in the savings for my health in the long-term with more energy, improved senses, no more pinhole burns and stink and I will be waaaay ahead of the game. Unless the unnamed box from that guy in Georgia is reeeallly good, then there goes another $80.

What price do you put on getting off cigarettes?

which ego did you get?

Yeah, us too. I did a short reality check just yesterday when I added up just how much my wife and I had spent getting started up. With multiple bottles and flavors of liquid, three kits for the two of us (spare batteries), passthroughs, carry cases, extra cartos, etc., etc., we've spent significantly more than I had expected to at first. More than what we would have spent on cigarettes to be sure. Still, once I reminded myself that we are pretty well set up now do not have to buy anything else for about a month at least, it doesn't seem like so much after all. Now I'm seeing it as significantly less than I would be spending if I were still smoking. Plus, my kids will be having kids not that far into the future. I want to make sure I'm around to see it. Can't really put a price on that, can you?

It is most definitely overwhelming at first, especially because there are so many options now beyond smoking filtered or unfiltered analogs. I jumped in and bought an e-cig found at a local tobacco shop. It took weeks to get used to. I burned out the atty fast - and didn't know any better -which resulted in some unsatisfactory vaping. Even though I bought a Pure Smoke, which requires its own brand of cartridges, I still bought some liquids - which was probably the best move I could make. My advice to you is to experiment, and you can do so without spending a grip load of cash. It may work to your advantage to know that you will not stick with your first choice of e-cig, but use it to get a feel for everything, and ultimately, to understand then what e-cig you will most likely be wanting. I went from a Pure Smoke auto batt to a Titan 510. There is a world of difference in these products and if I hadn't experienced the Pure Smoke first, I probably wouldn't be enjoying my 510 as much as I am now.

Can anybody provide a few pointer links as to abc's on how to NOT burn yr attys how to refill/vs/drip and why what matters?

I'm trying to figure out just what the heck to start buying and everyone seems to say it mostly boils down to personal choice...Well sure, but I'm in Australia and I dont' want to spend $200 bucks and weeks of waiting for orders figuring it all out if I can help it!

Thanks :)

I blew through close to $400 bucks before finding what worked for me. I am very satisfied now with my tornado, and use the high ping cart mod to keep me vaping. I mix my own juice, which is incredibly easy. I was worried as well about trying a product with separate atomizers, how long would they last? They seem expensive to replace...I finally took a deep breath and realized that they would last longer than the equivalent price of buying cigarettes. I already know that i am saving money by comparison to what I was dishing out, and long term it will only get better. I told myself at the start, even if this new addiction only allowed me to break even, if nothing else it was far safer than what i was doing.

I started using the ultra simple High Ping cart mod just the other day myself. I've been into this now for about 2 months and am finally starting to feel settled in with my equipment.

Yes, I spent more money getting to this point than I thought I would.
Yes, there's a very definite learning curve.
Yes, you need to find the juice(s) that fit your taste.
Yes, you need to find the equipment that suits you and get comfortable with it.

At this point I have standard and extended life 510 batteries. I got my eGo just a couple of days ago so all of the 510 batteries are now spares. I luckily stumbled onto some favorite juices early on. I now feel that I can slow down and just enjoy for awhile. I'll look for new juices over time but there's no rush now.

I have spares for everything. I've got lots of juice. Most importantly after about 2 months of this I'm 7 weeks without an analog. I can't put a pricetag on that.

Newbies just need to hang in there, read this forum and relax - it'll come together for you. The initial frustration will pay off incredibly.
