I agree with willie. I heat my mesh to just glowing twice just to burn off any oils that may be on it. Then I pulse out the shorts with heat from the coil. Helps to use a mechanical mod because it won't error and shut down on you because of the partial short. Make sure the battery can take the current draw though if you do this :thumb:

Mesh master here :)
Seriously tho I've handled mountains of mesh. Running co-ops and the like. I just drop half a sheet in a bowl of water, microwave for like 4 mins and done. Never oxidize, just pulse when initially installed and the coil instantly handles it.
There is machine oil on mesh, so if your not gonna oxidize the whole wick at least boil/wash it.

You won't get rid of oil with hot water. It needs something that will lift it like dish soap.

I cannot believe you microwave it thats quite dangerous if it start a nuclear meltdown and the microwave explodes into a million megaton bomb.

Really cool I gotta try that.

You can use the stove OP, electric or gas doesn't matter; microwave a glass of water to boiling, clean it with soap and water, after cleaning with soap and water dunk it in the boiling water, next use the stove turn it cherry red a few times until it is blackened then coil it, vape it.

Pulsing shorts out is a pain, it usually more times than not, short again after a while..

MY method is golden I rarely get shorts but I also use silica mesh strands as an insulator to make sure I get at least a month or two out of a wick I can get more but I like to re-coil as a hobby..
