I just got our first VK in the mail and have a question... the battery is in the charger and the light is green already after only a few minutes. Can I use it now, or do I need to wait the whole 8 hours? I bought this model primarily for battery life (and ease of use, of course), so I don't want to shorten it by using it too soon. The manual says charge initially for 8 hours. At least I think that's what the manual says... that thing is an absolute trip to read!

I didn't follow the directions for my 510 batteries, and they don't last very long between charges... but that's how 510 batteries are.

Okay, so can I use it yet or what??? :)

Thanks Steve, I have to say my first impressions are great - I was getting good vapor and hit from it very quickly! I bought it for my husband though, who has it in hand now.. remains to be seen if it will work for him. I hope so but if the worst happens and he doesn't go for the alternative nic, then I'll be willing to take it back from him and get some more girly cartomizers for myself.

Of the three tobacco flavors I received - Hilton, Camel and Virginia - I think I liked Camel the best.

Even though the light is green, that does not necessarily mean it is fully charged. Especialy so with the first time you use a battery. If you do not let the battery charge for a full 8 hours prior to use, you will most likely shorten the life of the battery. The first charge on any battery is very important. If it is not fully charged, it may develop a "memory" and switch of the charging curcuit too early the next time you try and charge it.

This is true of the old NiCad batteries. According to the Battery University lithium-ion batteries don't have memory and the first charge is the same as any other charge.

I kinda suspected this myself, especially since i noted no difference between leavin it on the charger overnight after the light turns green or removing it as soon as the light turns green, malfunctioning batteries notwithstanding and your mileage may vary

I am so happy for you, and I would like you to know, I am working on many new tobacco flavors, as well. Now, we need to get this to work for your husband, please, let me know if I can help, in any way. If you need to talk, call me, or email, as well.

Congrat's, and ENJOY:hubba:
