So, I'm a natural blonde. Unfortunately, that means I occasionally (ok, routinely) do not-so-smart things. I did one just a couple minutes ago. While painting a landscape with oil paints, I grabbed my V2 after doing some blending with my fingers. I now have terre verte and cadimium red on smudges... There may even be some raw umber marks as well. I tried to wipe them off with a paper towel, but there seems to be some color still there.

So my question: Is it okay to use paint thinner to remove the paint?

Might turn out fine, but before you do I would try olive oil, if that doesn't work then try WD40, and if that doesn't work then try a stainless steel cleaner, preferably something non-toxic, from the market, hardware or automotive store. Also, Mothers Mag Polish may work, and it will undoubtedly repair whatever damage you do with nicks, scratches, or a bad reaction to paint thinner. Good stuff to have, but no real need to buy it unless the other options fail.
