Safe? I've used Acrylic Enamel or model paints like Testors for some pretty trippy designs. What color are planning to use? Just to let you know you don't need to sand it completely, take some 200 and just lightly sand the entire surface for adhesion. I have a friend who is a total Dead Head (All hail Jerry) and I dabble as an artist, so he asked me to hook-em up. I'll see if he still has the batt and try and post a pic. Keep in mind that you can't use the batt for couple of days afterwards until the paint fully cures.

I was wondering if model paints would work or not. I'm not planning on any color right at the moment, but was just wondering what was best to use in case I ever wanted to.
