Seems like something is off there. I use 28g A1 all the time and really have to work to get some resistance like that. I normally wrap around a 5/64th rod I have (don't like macro's personally) and have to make a pretty wide coil to pull anything over 2ohms. Are you sure you don't have anything crossed or shorted? Did you try reading it on more than one ohm reader? Maybe your ohm reader is off?? Just thinking out loud here. Sorry if I'm not much help.

That does seem very high for only 3 wraps.. but if you want to go super sub. Ohm with 28g wire what I normally do it take a long strand, fold it in half, hold my side with plyers and stick the other end in a drill. Slowly twist it until it becomes finely braided but make sure not to twist it too much or else it will snap on you. Then if you do a duel coil make it about 4 wraps on each side and it will come out to be about .25 ohms. And for the problem you are having now man sir you screws are extra tight.. that wof be my only suggestion. Hope this helped

My first parallel coil was with 28g kanthal. I did 4 wraps around a 5/64 drill bit. Single coil. That came out to 0.36 ohms. So I would imagine a 3 wrap parallel coil would be in the realm of 0.27ish. You may have a short somewhere if yours is reading over 3.0 ohms.

Just a note, parallel coils using 28 gauge is ok, but if you can, get some 24 gauge and do a 5 wrap parallel for 0.3 ohms. I feel it gives more flavor and vapor production.
