You just don't know how much stories about lame teachers like that just get on my LAST nerve, Splinter. I thought that the outrageous pushing of pills/therapy by some elementary school teachers had finally been largely exposed for how lazy/inaccurate/insulting it truly is when there was suddenly a huge swell of it early in this decade. Maybe I should head over to the Vent Thread with that one; but it's just criminal! Well, it's a huge heap of extra work for you, but you're giving your daughter %100, and she's SO lucky to have you. Hope your romantic week-off hubby is splitting the home-schooling duties with you.

That's the great thing about homeschool. She will be off next week. We feel that there is no reason for her to take off the same vacations as the school has and so my husband planned his vacations for when the public schools are open so it's less crazy doing stuff . This week will be her first full vacation week for the year. We will take a couple of days off through out the year but that's only because if I taught her everyday she would be finished with the year in February and we don't want that. As we speak, she doing school right now with my husband. He signed the forms to teach her as well so he teaches her on the weekends and I do the weekdays. I take a couple of days off during the week in place of being off on the weekend so I have time to do house stuff and the weekends are really the only full days my husband has to do it on. It was strange at first for her to do school on the weekends but she got use to it. Lol..... Right now she doing music. My husband use to be in a band (he played bass) so he teaches her music because I have no idea how to read notes. She's learning how to play the flute

Oh, you found yourself a bass player to marry *swoon, collapse*?! I may really be handicapping my odds at finding a future Mr. beckyblue, but I really only seek out guitar or bass players (I guess a dreamy drummer would suffice). I'm finally teaching myself guitar, after simply worshiping it for my entire life. I know everybody's already said it a million times over, but it's SO outstanding (in many different ways) that your daughter is learning an instrument early. Wish I'd stuck at piano way back when with those childhood lessons. Better late than never, yes, but way better earlier! It sounds like a great little school your and your husband have created. If only more parents were half as involved...
