That is almost exactly my problem, but in reverse. I can not make her credit bad in anyway. That is one of the things that has been so hard during this time is keeping up with the bills with her name, and making sure I did not "hurt" her though she took me........... You are right it will be good to be done with this and moving on......

Yeah, he tried to get the house before foreclosure cuz he could have paid for it but the courts wouldn't let him touch it the way it was done.

I just don't get the yearning to hurt the other spouse in a divorce. I think it's just wrong. Ticks me off when the guy always gets screwed

Nope, by the order of court in the type I am in, I can no do anything to her that will hurt her credit or any other way. She is protected from that, so if I go down she can not go down with me. But I will call the bank anyway, what could it hurt?

There you go they deal with this sort of thing more than you know and I'll bet they don't want another house to deal with the way things are going,and another thing the interest rate is real low right now so if they can keep you paying and make a few points they might go for it.Paying rent is just throwing your money away the way I look at it.

I'm sorry but I really don't like to get into other peoples personal business.
BUT, couldn't a person get an equity line of credit on the house to get the money to refinance and get the appraisal?
I don't know all the legalities but banks are usually there to loan money so they can make money and if the house is worth allot more than what you owe they should work with you.
I just hate to hear someone getting whipped with a stick just to give the whipper a baseball bat!

Hiya MVJ friends. Just popped in to wish tiggs and anyone else dealing with hardship the best. I wish I had the answer for you, tiggs...I HONESTLY do. It does seem that many on here have already offered so really good sounding advice. I agree that talking to a loan officer may help if you can find one with a good heart....HEY!!!!!! Princess Evie is a loan officer and CERTAINLY has a wonderful heart....maybe Super Princess can save the day with some advice for you!!!
