I'll be back after a while... I need to build a timesheet spreadsheet for a client that I got hired for late this afternoon. I normally don't do that type of work, but what he is wanting is relatively easy and he'd already pre-paid me a $1000 several months back for any work he needed... If I can finish it tonight, I'll stay available for "real" work tomorrow

i actually had to make on of those for my now former employer when they decided to keep track of my hours which is ridiculous because i don't get paid by the hour and trust me they aint smart enough to use this info for antyhing else such as figuring labor cost or to estimate time frames for future jobs
it (semi) auto fills the date
calculates daily hours
and adds them for a weekly total

thats was about three years ago,,,,,,, still waiting on my Thank You

Well... thank you then...

This one is going to be pretty basic.. His logo in the top right, enough lines for 15 employees each having week ending, daily hrs worked ( for 7 days, didn't even want to figure for breaks ) and then total up the regular and OT hours... So I'll only have two formulas to work out once I get the layout to fit within a letter size print out. I could do the math for him for total pay, but he didn't mention wanting it. I may do that anyway as an alternate sheet since it'd be simple to add and then give him two. Of course, he may not want the pay to show also... so there may be a reason he didn't ask for other than he just didn't think of it.

LOL,,, You're Welcome
the one i made is just for one employee, no logo since they don't have on. I was kinda working on one for them but lost interest in it due to their lack of enthusiasm about the time sheet and when i mentioned the logo.
That was really the first time i made a spread sheet so it is basic but it does all I/We needed it to do. It was fun to do and i must admit i was proud myself for doing it. At first they wanted it for two weeks so that was the original then they decided they wanted it for one week,,,, that was an easy fix.

IMO, one of the best pieces of software ever written! I recently went through a five year period as Fiduciary for my parent's estate. I used Open Office in all my dealings with, among others, banks, lawyers, accountants, real estate agents, IRS, Veteran's Admin, holding companies, US Treasury and assorted relatives. I didn't worry about what hardware they used because Open Office sufficed for everything. To me, it's flawless. And free!

I wonder how jmur did with his slime installation today :pop:
Bought it. Found it at a parts store right down the road. But...the tire held up good since yesterday. Guess after inflating it there was a good seal with the bead. I "think" I had a real slow leak and because I didn't notice how low it got while I was cutting, it deflated enough to separate from the bead. I'm gonna use the Slime to seal it, but didn't today. Just wanted to cut the rest of my stuff. That didn't happen. Battery issues now. Started right up, ran fine, got off it to open the gate, then nada. Choke open or closed, no go. Put batt on charger (twice) not enough juice. Sooooooooooo (as Max would say) grabbing a new battery tomorrow. One I had in there (Magna Power) was only 2 years old. It was 190 CCA and this is for a 17HP engine. Now I'm thinking I may need something closer to 300CCA.

But...the tip about the Slime is still appreciated. I may put it in Thursday.

Open Office does work pretty well... there are some things that don't work in it ( and do work in MS Office ) but so few that most won't ever see them.

Finished up the timesheet for my client and I did end up putting stuff in there he didn't ask for... I found a third party VBA macro so he can select the date from a pop up calendar... Excel has one but it doesn't even work in all versions of Excel

It's setup for one week at a time, has the pop up calendar I mentioned that populates everyone's "week ending" date. It adds both regular and OT hrs and if he inputs their wage... it calculates that also. Most of the formula's show a blank cell unless there is data to show... things like if there is no persons name, there is no week ending date... etc. I also protected all of the formula cells so he can't accidentally mess them up... I didn't use a password just in case he wants to make changes on purpose.

I was thinking about making a print button and possibly a file save that could save the file with a date on it... but I probably won't unless it pays more :D . I even thought about making individual time sheets and just have this one as the summary... which would be sort of cool.

I'm thinking after a bit of a rest to get my mind to slow down... I'm hittin' the sheets... see everyone later.
