For the passthru, you really need 1000 ma, and 5 volt to work wonderful:D

I wouldn't argue one bit that more is better, but the USB standard is 5 volts @ 500 ma.

A lot (most?) people use them attached to a computer. Does any computer support 1000 ma? I could see them going a bit over the standard as a cushion, but not double. Of course, I could be all wet too. ;)

That is the standard but they do provide more current. My laptop for example has 2 usb ports and each one is at least 500ma's but I know the voltage output has to be wired together. This would supply at least 1 amp total from one usb port. However I know it has to be more because the passthrough produces tons more vapor than the battery.

Its easy to figure out the maximum current the cartomizer will draw using ohms law. Most of Steve's carts are 2.9 ohms.
