I will be making howto soon, couldn't find one either. I need to order a battery side socket before i can make another passthru. So it might be awhile before i can do one. Might beable to talk you threw it if you can't wait. You need a 3amp momentary switch, usb cord, battery side socket. Then it is mainly what your going to put it in. I used 1/2 pvc pipe on mine a old tire valve for the cord side end cap. This is also considered a straight threw passthru so it would be what ever the supply voltage is. So 5 volts unless you power it with some sort of mod or a variable voltage card. Really for how cheap you can buy them i would only do this unless you want experience in modding or you enjoy making stuff your self. Let me know if any of this sounds like what you wanted to do and i can try to help out as much as possible.

That's it....and thanks for the help. I'm in no big rush; just want to learn the ropes and make one. The more mods I tackle, the more I learn.

Huh? What do you need to know?
It literally is as easy as we discussed in the other thread! :)

All you really need is a battery side connector from a dead battery, and a holder to put everything in; then just electrical tape everything together if you aren't concerned with looks....

Yep - pretty much connect red wire here, black wire there, plug 'er in and vape!
Now if you want to get fancy, LED, variable voltage, etc.... then a toot may be pretty cool/slick :D

Going to break down and buy some battery side connectors today. Also need to find something common that you could get a home depot for the tip part. Wish i knew what the plastic piece i used came from. I will find something that will work. Might try to do a video on it if i can figure out my camera that does video and sound along with pictures. So maybe by next weekend i will have the how to up here in the forums.

Just cranked my passthrew up to 5.6 volts on my variable card since i got a 5 pack of atomizers yesterday i am not worried about blowing one up. For sure the closest i have been to real smoking so far. Thing is putting off thick clouds of vapor.

Just get MadVapes box mod kit.

510 Box Mod Kit

Make it without the battery and just attach your two USB wires instead.

The USB wires should be colored like this:

Note I used BLUE (instead of black for clarity) in my pic. Just attach the black from the cable where you see BLUE.

If you want to try to coax more power out of a computer USB port you could attach up to a 200Ω resistor between wires 2 & 3.

Here's another simplified pic showing the very simple connections.

You'll note I prefer to use old modem/router power supplies of 5V@2.4-3A hardwired instead of power robbing USB stuff and 5V@2000mA AC/DC adapters which will only get about 1850mA to the atty which is not nearly enough for a Joye 510 (about 4V).

Note I'm not calling these '5V' PTs. To get 5V you need the PT and the correct amount of current which will depend on the ohms of your atty.
