Are there patents for SPECIAL formula e-liquids and ecig batteries

patents are an odd thing, as far as the actual devices, yes some one could apply for a patent, as far as e-liquids only the name can be copyrighted, just look at the food industry and the perfume industry, they are both swamped with knock offs that are very close to the originals.

I would imagine the battery would be your best bet for getting a patent.

In general, the electronics of an item "could" hold a patent - but being relatively simple and generally within the common market, it may not qualify. As DJ mentioned, the name of something can be copyrighted/Trademarked, but a recipe cannot - only the exact wording of the recipe and/or ingredients would hold up (think "I Hate to Cook Book").
