Seems my New Year started a couple Septembers ago.. I probably would've kept vaping even if I didn't come across this forum, but the people here are great and I've learned so much so that just made it a lot easier to keep on keepin' on.

Thanks and Thanks. I wasn't quite sure where to put another self patting post, so I chose 'The Lounge' instead of 'General Vaping Discussion'.Moved to General Vaping Discussion from The Lounge

No problem at all. Thanks.Congrats!!! Sorry we all missed your post.
Wow, 3 grand is a nice chunk of change! I'm 150 bucks or so from 2 grand myself. I did (well a calulator did..) some math yesterday morning, and what I haven't spent minus what I have, I'm around 1500 bucks not poorer, and my wallet is real happy about that!!it doesn't show on my banner ATM, since the banners only update once a day now, but I just clicked over $3000 NOT spent on cigarettes. I'm a) loving that, and b) not at all surprised that all the gov't and BT idjits are frothing at the mouth about vaping.![]()

Thanks!Congrats!
Thanks. Ya, 4700 cigs is scary, it gets even scarier when I think of it as nearly 250 packs of smokes!Congratulations! That's a lot of $, but more importantly, you haven't smoked 4700+ cigarettes!
I have PHP code behind my vapin' page to come up with those numbers. They are a bit on the generous side. For example, I didn't regularly smoke a PAD, which the numbers represent, but at times (sometimes (fairly regularly) once a month) I did go on a 'cig binge'. I do keep close attention to what I've spent so far. (Online. I just added $100 for the B&M purchases, I know I haven't spent that much, but I know more than half that..)I have an app for that, but I stopped entering all my purchases, because the number was getting horrifying and I never thought I'd break even, let alone save money! But I have calmed down on toys (sorta) and I must be way ahead of the game by now, since I DIY.
Try staying away and not looking at your banner for most of a year. Talk about a real nifty surprise....lol
I'd forgotten how quickly cigarette costs added up compared to my vape expenses.
I'm super picky too. I finally found something I can vape every day, all day. I did find flavors I liked. They just were not something I could vape for long periods of time. I'm the odd duck that doesn't like to have multiple tanks filled with different liquids sitting around me.After I bought the PG and VG and stuff, my maintenance expenses went WAY down to almost nil.
The only thing I really buy somewhat regularly are prepunched cartomizers for my cartotanks although I now have an RBA in case I feel like vaping THAT way.
I really dropped the nic soon after starting vaping and I've NEVER been happy with a flavor of eliquid. I feel like I'm missing out because of it, too. People talk about how wonderful their flavors are and how great their new devices make their juice taste. I get excited and try another one and STILL HATE IT.
It's SO not fair. I'm horribly picky about food, too. I'm sure I miss out on any number of delicious things and it's my own fault.
I can't seem to help it, though.
I'm probably at a net-even point, give or take because I haven't tracked how much I've spent on all my vaping purchases. But I view purchasing tanks and mods as capital investments, kinda like a car. I have to put gas in the car, change the oil and new tires every few years and repairs as needed; that's the coils, juice and other accessories.Vaping is costing me money so far.
Of course, I have only vaped for less than 2 months and went completely bonkers buying mods, tanks, juice and tons of DIY stuff.
I will be saving tons of $$$ by the spring, but who cares? I am not smoking.
That's a great analogy. One that I will use in my next 'discussion' with some family members and close friends. I've gotten thru almost all the 'but you're still using nicotine', and 'dangerous chemical' comments, and the money thing is about to be the next full force 'point' they'll try to use.But I view purchasing tanks and mods as capital investments, kinda like a car.
