Well after wanting to grab something off of ebay.. And remembering that my personal bank account was attached to my business paypal account.. I decided to call Paypal one last time.. Try to get my personal bank account lifted from the business account. So i could open a personal paypal account and buy something off of ebay. All i got was a "no" I asked why when i like a bunch of other e-cig suppliers took paypal off their sites etc to become within the TOS. They said we have decided you are too big of a risk and we "DONT WANT YOU TO USE PAYPAL" I said what? Why? They reply... "We have decided to part ways" "We dont want you ever using paypal" "Ever" You and paypal are done. so basically I can get my money back in 6 months out of the account. And i can never sign up for another paypal account ever again. How freaking ......ed is that? They can officially $%$#@ off.. Im so mad i could spit right now.. Freakin Ridiculous...Im So  Its just funny because Im no where near as big as a lot of other e-cig companies lol... This just seems wrong..

This might have something to do with it... PayPal and Facebook are getting Warnings

PayPal Warned About E-Cigarette Legal Liability / / Facebook Bans Ads; Now ...... is in E-Cigarettes

2009-08-11 06:36:47 - PayPal has been warned about the legal consequences of continuing to facilitate the sale of e-cigarettes -- a product the FDA has ruled is "misbrand[ed]," an "unapproved new drug" and "are illegal until they are cleared," and whose sale has been prohibited by court order in at least one state. The legal warning comes as e-cigarette advertising has reportedly been banned on Facebook, and e-cigarettes which deliver ...... as well as nicotine are now available.

I've been seeing this more and more. Each few weeks another supplier gets kicked to the curb by paypal. Not to be argumentative, just curious, why not get done what needs done before paypal shuts suppliers down?? Your post was I must say ALOT nicer than some I have read after being shut down. If suppliers know paypal is shutting them down, why wait to the last minute to set something new up?? I have noticed a few suppliers who are down for a week or more. It just doesn't make since to me. If paypal is shutting people down why not be prepared for it??

Or am I missing something??? Post not meant to be argumentative. I just don't understand.

TDM... I WAS PREPARED and DID have a merchant account set up. The whole thing that angers me is the fact that i KNOW other suppliers that they just let downgrade and keep their accounts and get their money out... with me they basically told me to eff off.. And they are keeping my money for 180 days.. yes that is 6 months.. count em 6 months... That is what i am upset about. My website didnt miss a beat. Up and running well with a merchant account and accepting good ol plastic ;)

M3, I tried Google for a customer, who didn't want to use Paypal, I found it cumbersom.
I eventually got screwed out of the money for my sale, and my unsavory customer never did pay me. I would never use them again. Just my personal experience. Think it's best for suppliers to go to merchant accounts now.

Everyone. Try AlertPay.

Well here is what I got back from Alertpay, when I asked them; Since they restrict tobacco products, if they restrict e-cigs... seems a little harsh to me...

Hello Mr. Raven,

My name is xxxxxxx and on behalf of the Business Development team, I thank you for your interest in AlertPay.

AlertPay can provide you with service. However, please know that certain conditions apply to your industry type. The following are our guidelines for e-cigarette sellers:

1) All e-Cigarette merchants must sign up for a Business account.
2) As a new merchant you are subject to a 3 month probationary period*
3) Payments are subject to our restricted fee structure which is as follows:
a) All AlertPay balance payments are subject to a fee of 3.9% + $0.59 per transaction.
b) All credit card payments are subject to a fee of 6.4% + $0.59 per transaction.
4) All credit card payments will be held for 7 days before being released during probation period.
5) Mastercard payments will be prohibited on the payment page due to rules set forth by Mastercard. (Visa & AMEX are available).

*Probation period entails no withdrawals within the first 30 days followed by the implementation of a rolling reserve** to cover any possible chargebacks or refunds. The reserve will start at 10% of all revenue. This reserve can be removed when good standing with AlertPay has been achieved.

**Rolling reserve for high risk merchant account is a percentage of your total sales which is withheld by a credit card processor for six months in respect of possible future chargebacks. In month seven of your trading your rolling reserve will be released to you for the first month of trading, in month eight your reserve will be released for month 2, so you will always have a reserve of six months due to you by AlertPay.

They kicked me to the curb for good over a few bottles of e-liquid sold with my personal account. They did let me drain my funds out, but I can never have paypal again.

However he did say if the FDA is overturned in court then I could have my account reopened. WHAT BS!!!!

If those clucks wanted to keep my money for 6 months they would never hear the end of me. I would be calling, and emailing them to death every hour by the hour until they at least let me drain my funds.
