PBusardo's videos are like all the other vaping videos on Youtube:

- A splash-screen / video intro that nobody cares about (to be fair, PBusardo's intro is very short. but the noise it makes manages to be incredibly annoying nonetheless).

- Lots of rah-rah about the guy's other videos or upcoming reviews, that nobody cares about,

- Scenes of him vaping and spewing out big clouds (with a backlight to make the effect more dramatic, surely), and having a vaping orgasm, that nobody cares about.

- Him saying "we'll go ahead and do x, y or z" or some other painfully dull platitude every 3 sentences, that gets on the nerves of anybody who speaks English properly.

- Him droning on and on forever to deliver his deep inner thoughts about the product, that nobody cares about,

- Him trying to appear like a colorful and spiffy character, but just ending up looking like a typical piss-poor Youtube jerk - Okay, I'm more thinking about the bearded coil rebuilding expert dude and the long-haired stoner whose names escape me than PBusardo here, to be honest.

- For about 10 seconds out of the 30 minute video, a few helpful closeup views of the products and how it's meant to be used, which is what everybody really wants, and that everybody skips over the rest of the video to find.

The only one of the serial vaping video makers I really like is the scottish guy (Todd is his name, I think): he's naturally colorful without trying hard to be, he comes across as someone who's genuinely nice and not full of himself, he doesn't scare newbies off with incredimazingly complicated RBA setups, and while his videos are somewhat long too, they're technically more informative than most others.

This said, more than once, I've thought to myself that I should get into the Youtube video review business: if you post enough of them and you get enough views, vaping hardware manufacturers send you stuff to review for free, apparently. It looks like a great way to vape with the latest and greatest stuff on the cheap! But I could never bring myself to show my ugly mug on camera,[MODERATED] about some mod or some clearo and bore the hell out of everybody for 30 minutes.

sleepy.jpg You just accomplished that.

Perhaps when you say "that nobody cares about " you can point out that it is you , as yourself that may not care, but leave the rest of us out of it since you don't have a clue about what we may like or dislike .

I totally disagree with everything you are saying about Phil. The only thing I agree with is your last paragraph. I would also like to create video reviews and get stuff sent to me to try and review. Only problem ain't nobody want to see my ugly mug on camera. :D

Well I will +1 on PBusardo, and add a little about that Scott guy.

I personally found out that he, while he comes across well on his vids, is an egotistical fella with no math skills.

As for Busardo, the engineer in me loves that he actually TESTS the products in reproducible ways. Makes me think that he is a fellow engineer.

I don't know of another reviewer that will put a device on an 0-Scope and multimeter and test it across a range of resistances, and really find out if it does what it claims.

For example, about the Provari being the only mod that can down regulate, and that it produces the most even result across the charge of a battery, not just to three quarters charge.

All the other reviewers just assemble it, vape it, and give me their opinion.

Opinions are not worth much. I like facts and numbers.

exactly why phil's my favorite YT reviewer.

though, i do critique him pretty harshly since i hold him to a higher standard. i was rather bothered by his nic test kit review when he didn't come up with a solution for how long it takes to stir by hand. was also nearly yelling out of my seat when he decided to test the nic on flavored juice as if there was any way to tell blue from green or yellow (with no opacity) in a brown, opaque juice. his REO review was also rather disappointing. nearly everything he complained about is provided as an option on reosmods.com... and he didn't know the upgraded contacts were already installed on the mods on the site at the time he posted the review.

but you can't expect the guy to know everything. so while i belly ache about it, i guess he deserves a free pass. being the most thorough reviewer currently existing has to count for something.

I had to warm up to his videos. I don't think my sense of humor is quite like his and Dimitri's but I SINCERELY appreciate the effort and exposure PBusardo and Vape Team Media are giving events and other meets. So I am easily able to overlook any personality "discrepancies" and I greatly enjoy their videos....especially the big convention videos. I keep those on the TV when I'm doing housework so I can listen to them in the background.

Plus, as someone also commented, PBusardo's focus is to help people get and stay off cigs. I believe he is 100% sincere in his mission to accomplish that. So I have to recognize and commend that above any other "flaws" that might be in his videos.

These reviewers aren't professionals, as far as I know or can tell. I'm grateful for every YouTube video that attempts to educate and de-mystify Vaping to people looking for information and answers. So when a reviewer goes out of his or her way to produce a product that looks polished and consistent, I am grateful for that.

Just my :2c:

I have always enjoyed Phils videos. I used to watch every single one when they would come out. I quit watching them around the time he met Zenn. I felt like he kinda let his friendship get in the way of an honest review and that is one of the things he prides himself on, honesty to the public. This is all speculation, of course. I could be wrong..... Maybe he really does like it as much as he says he does (even though he never uses it). I still will watch a Phil video every once and a while though. They are always informative and entertaining at the same time.

I agree with you about Todd but that's where my agreement ends. Your case comes across as bitter. I would suggest staying off YouTube.

I think there are enough reviewers on Youtube for awhile. lol. I only subscribe to about 3. It seems like most reviewers are reviewing the same products and saying the same things. I really can't blame them for that as obviously there will be repeats, but once someone like PBusardo reviews a product, I don't feel the need to watch someone else review the exact same thing.

Sometimes I wish there was a channel that just talked about different topics in vaping rather than just focusing on equipment.

Well that was a tad off topic, I do like PBusardo. I find his information thorough and honest. :vapor:

I wish I could. Youtube is mostly dreadful.

Look, I'm not bitter - why should I be, these guys haven't done me wrong in any way. Or maybe I did come across as bitter, as I was rather drunk yesterday when I wrote my rant :)

My beef is, before Youtube, reviews consisted of a text article with photos. The photos were framed, and the text was written to convey as much relevant information as possible. You could print and share the reviews, or speed-read through them and skip the information you didn't need, and they were all about whatever was reviewed and nothing else.

Instead of that, reviewers now sit in front of a camera and yammer away to deliver information, the real meat of which could be summed up with 3 photos and a half page article. How lazy is that?

Video is great to show things like building a coil or installing a wick. But to review a mod, a battery, a RBA or a juice, video is the wrong medium. To get to the real information, you have to sit through the guy's antics for endless minutes - if there's any real information to be found at all.

Whenever I look for reviews about a vaping product I'm considering buying, I first Google the product. Sometimes I'm lucky and I find a simple webpage that describes it all. More often than not however, all I find is a kajillion videos, and my heart sinks: Aww Gawd, I have to endure an hour of pooly made videos with talking heads who won't stop yacking and get to the freakin point already...

I have nothing against PBusardo, the bad teeth smoke ring guy, the scottish guy, the bearded coil guy, the stoner guy and all the other video guys. After all, all the stuff I bought, I bought them after getting the information I needed from their videos. I just wish they had laid out their great knowledge of the products on paper (or rather, webpages) instead of making videos that wasted countless hours of my time. That's part of my life I'll never get back, looking at people talking. Whatever happened to proper review writing?

I adore pbusardo. Have a huge crush on him, actually ~

When I got my first RBA (a phoenix through one of blondie's random giveaways) it was pbusardo's bulldog video walked me through making my first coil. When I got sick and tired of shelling out for more vivi nova heads because the factory build is crap, he walked me through learning how to rebuild those, too.

I don't watch as often as I did, because I'm pretty satisfied with my setups and self-sufficient in my rebuilding and juice mixing, but I still refer newfriends to his channel all the time. He's humorous, articulate, his videos are well presented. I'm personally perturbed by the fact that every other new vaper appears to think they can be a youtube star, when half the time you can't see what they're doing, if you can understand them at all, IF they aren't spending half the video going "um.. um.." Phil DJed for a while, IIRC, and that experience serves him well in being able to competently perform for an audience.

There's other good video people. I've no problem with igetcha69, grimmgreen, that lot, but some of em I can't take seriously for watching them throw whining fits here in the forum - rage quitting a thread if you disagree that the average noob shouldn't be handed a VV device, for example - but I won't even deign to name them here.
