When using CR2's does the PCB trip with using 510 atties or cartos?
Or is this combo even possible

Combo should be fine, the PCB (I'm assuming you're talking about the protection circuit on a protected Li-Ion batt here) should only trip for a safety reason (overcharge, over-discharge, battery short or overheat), so, if the atty/carto is shorted out then it will cause the pcb to trip, but it would cause the battery's to catastrophically fail (blow-up) if it didn't...

Well the mod in question is Altsmoke's BB, I've heard from ppl that CR2's trip the prot circ & that it doesn't work at all at 6v, should prolly just screw it & get the SB, but where I work, having something that looked pipe bombish wouldn't go over to well

Edit: Thanks for all the quick replies, much appreciated,

Also, has anyone used carto's (Boge) at 6v? does it burn easily?

Okidoke modders, no one else could answer this:

Without details there is no answer. Saying '510' is like like saying 'pizza', everyone makes them and although similar looking they are not, nor do they behave the same.

That said real Joye 510 atties will trip protected CR2's.

I just took two fully charged Ultrafire protected cr2s off the charger, put them in my BB with a 1.7 ohm LR atty. No problems at all tripping the protection circut.
Well maybe things have changed very recently.

Here's a few comments from various forums:

I didn't have a clue that a reg 510 Atty won't run on 2 3V protected.

I called Jason and he said a regular 510 wont fire with protected batteries at 6V. He said I either needed a HV Atty or the cartomz to vape at 6V. Jason said something in the circut wont let it run, he and some of the other vendors were trying to get that changed.

I use unprotected CR2s... protected ones won't fire a 306, or 510 consistently for me.

I got mine the other day, and I am very disappointed. They don't fire on the BB with a regular 510 or 306... which are the only attys I use at the moment. It will fire with a HV 510, but it just isn't the same.
I'm going to stick with the unprotected CR2s.

And currently from AtmosUSA (The Copper).

Protected CR2 3.0 volt, 1000mAh. (For use with all Coppers, except the Mini Copper)
15mm Diameter and 29mm in length.
(Regular CR2′s are 15mm X 27mm)
Please note that these ONLY work with HV atomizers
