I was just curious about the pros and cons of a pen mod Vs a box mod. I currently use a box mod but would like to try a pen mod. Are there different tanks for them or are they just all one setup? What kind of tank capacity do they have? Do they use the same batteries, and charge the same?
If I did get one I'd like a nice one, which are the best and why?

Yeah when I sleep in I just mean the shape of the device not the size of it I don't mean like a disposable e-cig I guess I just don't know what those type of mods are called
Sorry that didn't make sense, I was driving and using speak txt. Yeah I wasn't sure what those "pen mods" were all about. Didn't know if there were differences other than the shape. I was thinking that they were all low wattage, but I see that the Aspire one is 60W, and comes with the Atlantis tank, that I already know I like. I guess after looking at th a little closer I answered most of my questions, but if anyone has any cons about them let me know

Another thing I was wondering was, after looking at some of these "pen mods" I only see one button, so r u unable to adjust the wattage? That just doesn't make sense to me that if you can change out the tanks then you could be using any number of different coils, so hows that work? R they just such a low wattage that it doesn't matter?

I have been vaping for quite some time and have always used box mods until recently when I decided to switch to the pen/tube style mods. ..... I love the style of the tube mods far better than I do the large, clunky and awkward box mods..... So, what's the difference? Not much really .... Usually you can obtain box mods with larger wattage ratings due to the simple fact that they hold more batteries (battery power) ..... However, you can get some fairly large wattage tube style mods that are fairly powerful ..... Some tube mods are regulated and others aren't .. I just purchased the Joyetech ego One Mega and it's the best mod I have ever used for my style of vaping..... No it's not regulated but there is another version that is regulated and it's the Ego One VT model ..... The Ego Mega allows me to chuck some fairly good sized clouds but it also scales down to producing smaller amounts of vaper if so desired. There are lots of tube style mods that are made by various companies that are very good.

The best thing to do is to go to a few companies websites that sell vaping mods and look at their tube style mods... Then once you get the name of a mod you are interested in then just go to you tube and type in it's name and you will be able to watch review videos on how the product performs.

What does it mean by regulated or unregulated?

A regulated mod keeps the voltage and power to the atomizer coil constant ( or regulated ) ... What this means is that as the battery starts to drain and run down, then the regulated mod will try to keep the voltage that is applied to the coil constant.... This also means that your vaping experience will remain fairly constant even as the battery drains .......... An unregulated mod on the other hand, will not regulate the voltage going to the coil. As the battery drains on an unregulated mod, then the voltage to the coil will also drop and the vaper production will reduce by a certain amount.... What this means is that after you have used your mod for so many hours then the vapor production will start to decrease....

Most modern mods (except for mechanical mods) have safety protection which is far more important than if it's regulated or not.

Just in my experience, but the pen-style is an eGo-style with an internal battery. All the ones I had, back then, connected to a charging adapter at the business end. The internal battery was from 400-1200mah.

A tube style, or as I like to call them the lightsaber style, accept a rechargeable battery. Even an 18650.

The box style came along via modders. My first one was an iTaste MVP. It fit better in the hand and wasn't as tall. It really wasn't long before boxes became dominant in sales. If I remember correctly, their internal battery was 1800mah. I still have a tube-style mech, but their are others still made. Provari makes regulated ones.

Anyway, the pen-style was only about 1/2" wide.

The tube mods have capacities much larger these days.... The one I just purchased is a 2600 Mah battery.

I use a vamo v5 and have an I taste svd 2.0 on order. Very inexpensive since a lot of folks are moving to boxes and subohming. I use a t3d or equivalent clearomizer at 7-8 watts and love it. I can switch my clearos to my pen batteries and use them when I don't or can't easily use the mod.

There are many types of "mods".

There are regulated mods which have variable power (variable watts). There are unregulated or mechanical mods which are fixed voltage and can not be adjusted.

Both regulated and mech mods are available in either a tube (pen?) or box shape.

Regulated mods can have internal (nonreplaceable) batteries or external (replaceable batteries). Mechanical mods only use external batteries.
