between here and there
Caution should be taken tho. As in the case of Chellie's example.....there is a warning not to use any other tops with this mod....can only support wattage and Nickel stock coils. Here is a warning I have found at mvs

Risk of battery Explosion! Ni 200 (Nickel) and Titanium (Ti) is designed for use only with devices equipped with circuit boards capable of controlling coil temperature, such as DNA 40 Mods. Do not use this product with any other devices.

In Partibus Infidelium

Looking at that, it doesn't seem like true TC. It just seems to have a low, med, high setting. Not 350F -500F and everything in between. Unless I missed something.

Here, I found some diagrams to make it more clear:

Using the device in Variable Wattage mode here is the output depending on the resistance in Ohms of the atomizer you have installed:

Using the device in TC (or Variable Temperature may be more accurate) here is the output depending on the type of material (titanium or nickel) of the atomizer you have installed:

So it doesn't work like a typical TC device that you would see somewhere else. I think it would be more accurate to call this Variable Temperature because, as ScottP pointed out, you aren't adjusting the device to a temperature of choice within a specified range. You are choosing between three available settings.
