So I bought a whole lot of juices in the past day or so and i've noticed something odd.... most of them have almost a perfume-like taste. It's as if I'm taking hits of incense. This seems especially true of the tobacco flavors I've tried. Has anyone else ever come across this and is it par for the course in vaping or have I just not found what is right for me yet?

I got one with a perfumey-taste to it (well, by my perception) and asked the supplier about it. Their recommendation was to open up the bottle, give it a few hours to breathe, then cap it and store it in a dark place for a few days and then retry. Many suppliers blend the juice upon order, which doesn't give it enough time to steep.

I also read someone else recommending to put your bottle in hot water for a few minutes to let the juice warm up a bit, and then setting it aside... supposedly, warming it will help get rid of the perfumey flavor. But as I've read that nicotine content deteriorates with heat/light, I'm not sure I'd advise that except if airing it out/letting it sit doesn't work.

Here & There
Most tobacco juices are made with tobacco essences meant to mimic tobacco that have odd, grassy or perfumey smells to them depending on brand and name of flavoring used by the vendor. I didn't get any truly satisying tobacco from a vendor until I went for the house extracted ones and more recently have had some success with some recent DIY tobacco attempts.

The only perfumey juices that I got were my own DIY attempts once I was starting on DIY. I noticed that flavor that always make the juice to be perfumey are: Vanilla, Cotton Candy, Sweetener and Caramel.

About tabacco flavors, at least with the tabacco flavors that I got I didnt have this issue.

Some of juices that I'd made I had to trash and retry with lower % of those flavors and it came out really good.

I'd never had this issue with a vendor one.

clove black from LF tastes perfumy (if thats a word)

Thanks for the heads up on that. I'm going to be trying to hunt down a clove flavor that I like and it's good to know that in advance. Also, I have been actively avoiding saying "perfumy" simply because I wasn't sure it was really a word... I don't think it is but it's all good.
