Ok, so I got my first PV in the mail today along with my sample juices. I was so excited, that even though I had read about steeping or "curing" your juice for a few days, I grabbed the Dr. Pep juice and filled the clearomizer. It was AWFUL! I about threw up from what I think is that perfumey taste or smell that people talk about. Just to be sure, I tried double bagging my vanilla bottle, and put it in very warm water for 10-15 mins. I filled a second clearo, and although it wasn't as bad, it still kind of tasted like a drink spiked with gasoline.

So now I've calmed down, shook the crap out of them, took the lids off, and after reading advice in another thread, I gave them a stern talking to. If I leave my drip tip off of the clearos, is it going to gum up the wicks? And I know everyone will give a different response, but do you guys think 2 days of my "curing" process will yield better results?

Hmmm. I've never used them. Some juices have an alcholoy/perfumey taste. Sometimes, a cap off steep makes it better, sometimes it doesn't and I give them away or trash them. In my experience, it takes longer than 2 days if it's going to go away though.

Maybe order some juices from a different vendor? Mt Baker Vapor was really quick to get my order to me, priced well, with a variety of flavors and I did not get a perfume taste in anything I ordered (not to say you won't, just that I did not).

You might go through a lot of juices trying to find ones you like. Order small bottles, or sample packs if you can. There's no point in having 30ml bottles around of stuff you can't stand.

I know the batteries and tanks and delivery systems can be complicated for new vapers, but I think the real challenge is finding juices.

RAWR makes great juice too, no alcohol taste to me. So does Ahlusion, but they can be difficult to get an order into sometimes.

Ya sounds like it either needs to steep, or they put too much flavor concentrate in. Personally Id stick with one of the more reputable sites.

First off, if you guys can't tell, I'm at work and have constant access to this forum so I tend to respond quickly :)
Second, I think you might be right. I might start an order with either Mt Baker, Heavenly Vapes, Or ECBlends. All seem to be pretty common suppliers on here.

Heathers heavenly vapes samples are generally all great to use right away. You won't have a choice in nic strength or PG/VG ratio. But they are delicious. Just make sure you get the samples or be prepared to do the steep with them. The samples are 12mg nic and 70/30 PG/VG.

I would recommend Nice Pear for sure. Awesome juice. :)

I know very well this perfumey taste/smell you talk about.

Sometimes, a steep of a week or so gets rid of it. Sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks. On occasion, nothing gets rid of it. Taste it. If it's off to you, put it back in the dark and don't even bother going back to it for a couple weeks. Repeat as necessary until it tastes pleasant to you. If it doesn't "bloom," you could try mixing it, or put it into long term storage.

If you're still relatively new and a recent heavy smoker, some tastes will be off to you anyway. Your taste buds are still out of whack, and any subtle flavors will be lost on you. Stay WELL hydrated and be patient. That nasty juice today might taste delicious in 2 weeks.

Ohhhh aqua vapor. I doubt they need to steep. I'm pretty sure they are premixed loooong before shipped... AV was my first liquid and the smell made me gag and still does when I think about it, and the vapor tasted -well- like gasoline.
As already stated by other members, the liquid is the toughest part to vaping, but once you find a good one it changes everything! My personal favorite is Mister E Liquid but again- everyone has their own favorite and you will get a lot of great recommendations here. Best of luck and (soon my friend) happy vaping!

Where were you last week?!? haha! I wasn't impressed by the 2 I tried, so I will be ordering some tonight. It's just so hard because everyone has different flavors. I want to try something VG based so I think I might just order a few small bottles... maybe from a few different places. Let the quest begin!

i recently got an order from Velvet Cloud Vapor, they specialize in all VG juice. I got some on the recommendation of someone on another forum and i was really surprised. They taste really good, not dull like some other pure VG juices i've tried, and they're not atty killers which is a plus.
I tried Mewlew's Magic (it's a rich chocolate with butterscotch i think, different flavours keep popping out )
and the Campfire (i love smores so this was a no-brainer for me, it's become my day vape since i got it)
